Semantics (accurate, but semantics nontheless.) Insisting that torrents are more frequently used for legal vs illegal file sharing is ignorant at best and putting your fingers in your ear shouting "LALALALA" at worst.
No...if my only choices were "a guy who beat his wife" and "a guy who talks about another guy that beat his wife", I just wouldn't vote.
We have the freedom to CHOOSE to vote in America, not just the freedom TO vote. Not voting is a freedom some people in this world do not have, just as voting is a freedom some people in this world do not have.
Go to any torrent site (excluding ones that advertise the fact that they only serve legal torrents) and tell me how many legal vs. illegal torrents you find.
BT Junkie, Demonoid, and Pirate Bay. Go ahead, check.
I'm in the US as well...true, you do see ads that focus on only one or two areas of a politician's "accomplishments", but as a whole, politicians tend to talk smack about their opponent more than they talk about themselves. Or at least, that's how it seems to me.
If I didn't have a DS Lite, I would have definitely bought an XL (my DS gets most of its play time while sitting on the couch watching movies). I'll likely sell my DS Lite and pick up an XL once the 3DS comes out, since the price will likely drop significantly on them.
What about politically motivated psychological attacks by every politician out there? I have yet to see a single politician try to convince me to vote for them...they always focus on trying to tell my why I shouldn't vote for the other guy.
If politicians were forced to talk about themselves rather than the person they're running against, I think the political climate would be quite different (insofar as how people view officials running for election.) Just talking trash about the other guy makes me not want to vote for you, regardless of how much I agree with your opinions, policies, or intentions.
Agreed...size is the main factor, not the sensitivity of the screen itself. Try playing something like Metroid Prime Hunters on a DSi XL...much, much easier to play for an extended period of time.
Google is the "king" of targeted ads...so why not do the same thing with Google TV? If I'm watching an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, I obviously will not give a shit about life insurance...but a video game? Sure. I'll sit through an advertisement for that. Unless it's one of those lame Gamestop machinima commercials...
This seems like a strange direction for Google to take...what with their algorithms used for serving up ads online, one would think they would utilize something similar for their TV service...I despise advertisements, but I'll tolerate them if it's relevant to what I'm watching.
It would be interesting to see how this affects battery life. I love my Eris, but the battery life on the stock battery is pretty suck. Would something like Skype drain a battery faster than calling someone using the 'phone' portion of the device?
Much like Valve, Blizzard is one of the few companies that could continue only releasing games connected to their core IP and not hear a single complaint about it from me. While I'm excited about a potential new Blizzard IP, their current IP is so iconic and so engrained in my gaming experience that I don't think I'd ever get enough of them.
I started with MUDs, moved on to Meridian 59, Ultima Online, Everquest, etc...I absolutely LOVED my time spent with MMOs, especially WoW (closed and open betas, continued until about 1.5 years after launch), but the genre got boring for me. Not even The Old Republic can get me excited about an MMO.
I still find it surprising when I hear so many people are still playing WoW. Anyone on here still playing since launch? What's kept you with it all this time? Gameplay, community, what?
Ok, look...I understand why there was public and military outcry (similar to the "no russian" level in MW2), but I wonder if there would have been as much controversy had it been for a war that was no longer going on. Beyond that, they are still in the game...they just aren't called 'Taliban'...what's in a name? This makes me think back to the GLA in C&C Generals...
We have asshole Republicans who only care about trying to keep their grip on power, and then we have spineless Democrats who can't even achieve their agenda while maintaining a majority and the White House.
That and it's offshoots NASA and the Aerospace Industry are as close to completely socialized sectors of the economy as you'll get
Also not true. Orbital (formerly Fairchild) is just one of hundreds of private companies that do contract work for the Aerospace industry. In fact, comparatively, there is far more money in the private Aerospace industry than there is in NASA.
The government sure as hell doesn't own all the satellites orbiting this planet. They don't get up there by themselves, you know...
Oh, two that are government controlled - AMTRAK and US Postal Service.
Those aren't industries...those are companies. You do know there are train services other than AMTRAK and postal services other than USPS...right?
keep deluding yourself into thinking any party gives a flying fuck about you.
I was having a conversation about just that earlier today with a co-worker. Both major parties have proven many times over that they can't be trusted...how anyone can still be a registered Democrat or Republican in this country defies belief.
We doing this now? Last time I checked, there are literally hundreds of thousands of privately owned businesses, and you can't name me a single solitary industry which government controls every aspect of it, including marketing, distribution, R&D, and everything else (which is the definition of socialism.)
There have been flutters of socialism in this country for decades...completely independent of anything else, we aren't really any more "socialistic" now than we were 10 years ago.

The general "you", not "you, icebraining".

Logic.

Continuing with the offtopicness:

Flippin'....::slaps self::
Does it say if it runs better than the version of iOS that comes with the iPad?
Does the article indicate whether it ran better than the version of Safari that the iPad comes with?

Never said it was a bad thing...merely said it was a thing.
Nothing spurs innovation like trying to kill the other guy.

Awesome.
Seriously? You mean you've never heard of all those companies that make all of the military's hardware?
Sorry...meant to include private contracters as well. Blackwater ring a bell?
The Defense Industry

You sure about that?

Either way, you get my point, yeah?
Change to socialism
