I used to work for a non-profit health & wellness/community organization that can be abbreviated by four very well known sequence of letters. They implemented robocalls for EVERYTHING including, camp updates, account balance due, etc from the headquarters until one VP got wind of it and realized they could use it for even MORE (marketing, incentives, etc). I heard many stories from the branch levels of how intrusive and frequent these calls were becoming. As the person in charge of the technology, let me tell you it was almost impossible to tell the VPs that no... this was not a good strategy. Good way to lose members IMHO.

What about the many, many customers that deal with HIPPA (Health Safety Information) And Patient Safety information? Also, what about security clearance? There are very few hosting services out there that offer certified compliance standards as well as employee screenings for ALL employees that will be handling (read: potentially have access both on hardware and software levels) for things that require background checks (Such as FBI background check, etc.). I deal with this on a daily basis. I've dealt with incompetent people, let's call them c-level, who just want to throw everything out of the data center into some puffy place so they don't have to worry (read: pay) for infrastructure/support on-going and up front. Also they thing this will deal with things like overheard regarding number of needed staff/salaries. Drives me up a goddamn wall. Private cloud with proper DR in place is good enough. That's the only way I'd ever plan it.

Agreed. Granted, I just returned my iPad 3 within the 14 days I had it; full refund (I just did not like it or find it entirely useful). Also, I don't like games. I was looking for something I could use for remote desktop sessions and control of my IT environment. Also, to note, I own three macs and a number of windows pcs. I also have a droid razr. I have Windows 8 running on my brand new Samsung Slate (700T). It's by far better and superior to the ipad IMHO. I can do so much more, install what I want (and how I want) and I think it has a lot more to offer. A lot of it is because of the metro interface. I do NOT use the metro style IE. I don't like it and to me, it's kind of silly as I tend to do much more in my browser. But, if you want a good tablet experience, I think the Slate is a home run and will only get better with the Win8 RTM. It's docked as my primary work pc right now.
