many Linux OS's on many servers for many years from Deb to RedHat and even Gentoo.. protage on Gentoo is like any utility useful but not the only why to update or keep stabilized. On Gentoo you can disable just about anything and yes you can build
packages from source not just from the gentoo downloads but from anywhere you can download source code... come on wind your necks in, its a utility its not what you do as an sys admin its what you use and when you use it.
I worked for an ISP that ran everything on one single SUN Solaris machine i kid you not! and it was so old when it rebooted it took over 30 mins to come back online thats if you where lucky sometimes it never came back. The poor thing just wanted to die and stay dead.. The funny thing is six years on and they still use the thing, but have over 20 servers now running linux.. not sure if thats saying something bad or good lol
he was the creator of the polygraph and also Wonder Women.. i mean come on... another thing i've always wondered about the test, what if your nerves got the better of you when it came to answering a truthful question.. for example Im about to be asked a really serious question but im so nervous of my answer coming out as a lie surly this would make it look like i was hidding something?
Id happly sit all day killing virtual people and have been doing so from my teens, this is a healthy thing and not unhealthy in the slightest!!

they give out a feeling to others that they are the only people that should write your software!! Run on their OS or pay the price of being dominated and forgoten..
They also seem to patent everything you could imagine from configuartion configurations to well the little key on your PC keyboard with the windows logo.. Its a "PC" keyboard not a fooking Windows device. Then they make deals with vendors to support only their own OS so any compitition gets squished.
Lets be honest, I do still use windows from time to time but only cause of the above mentioned.
