Still American Colleges and Universities are still top notch in the world. I have seen American Students struggle just as hard as foreign students from those countries who have top education marks.

In terms of education in America we can do better. However I expect the metrics that we are using to understand our ranking is flawed. Also the fact it is easy to hack metrics.

For example. In the United States there is a path for any student who is willing to graduate from high school, this means the full normal distribution of people are in play. While other countries after elementary school, will keep the best and brightest to go to high school and college, while the Standard Deviation -1 and below will be forced to go into vocational labor job training. In short comparing the metrics are faulty as they just take out people who would make such metrics poor.

However I remember back in the early 2000's that PC Modding was big. PC with a Window full of Neon Lights and Fans with LEDs, colored cooling water cool tubes. Or those curvy "ergonomic" keyboards back in the 1990's that were so popular. We had a brief trackball trend, and Laptops made from different metals.

Other than getting a fuel efficient car that can fit you and your family, people opt for larger cars, and trucks even if they are not hauling anything.

Even a lot of jewelery that people get. What is the point, and most will not sell it later.

As like a lot of the things we buy, it isn't always just because it is practical, but because it is fun.

We all have hobbies and will use some of our cash for stupid things, that just make us feel better.

Sometimes we put Apple on a different set of standard for success.
the iPod, and iPhone were huge and changed how we dealt with mobile hardware.
the iPad and iWatch are mostly toys based off of the success of the iPod and iPhone. Being that they didn't completely change the industry doesn't mean it is a failure. I personally don't see the iWatch worth the money. However some do. And I am not going judge them on that. Because there are things I get for myself that are just as silly but makes me feel good. Like my mechanical keyboard.

Perhaps the typical Fat Dumb American are actually intelegent people who cannot find work to match their potential.
This isn't other similar research correlating intelligence with other related issues.
Such as intelegent people tend to get paid less than people with lower intelligence. Or People with higher IQ may get caught up in drug addiction.

I think in part much of American values are built on the concept of hard work and not on smart work.
If I am smarter than the next guy and gave a task to do I may get it done in half the time and go home early while the guy who is having a harder time is putting in overtime. Thus he is getting paid more for doing more work however the outcome is the same.

Then we also get the smart guy questioning authority. So the boss will say "Do it this way." While you may think of a better way and the boss doesn't like watching you not following his direction.

Now all this goes down to a link in America correlating obesity with income. So this with other research such as this one helps paint a better picture of the complex issue that we face. Not the simplified tweet or a snarky comic of a fat guy in a wheelchairs with flags and gun going 'Merica!

A common mistake people do when making stuff for children is assuming that kids are dumb so let's make it simple for them.
Kids are not dumb and a good children's museum teaches the adults too. The only real difference is the "Adult" museums are more or less teach like the Victorian times quite expecting you to stay attentive with learning to be done via audio and visual learning.
A "Children's" museum offers the tactile learning as well and fully engages all the senses for proper learning.

I would make physical and manipulable exhibits such as not gates and gates and or gates either out of blocks or plumbing with color water. Then getting so far to make a 4 bit adder.
After you get that far then you can switch to electricity. Perhaps with a large quartz transistor and circuits. Where they can turn a dials and press buttons pull leavers to get the point.
The goal is to demistify computers to children and adults before you get to the other suggestions with robots writing code. But for the most part target towards teaching adults the concepts using as many stimula as possible.

This is why rich people are always under audit because his wealth is a disconnect to his taxable income so the irs will terming if any errors were done or laws broken. To be fair the tax code is so complex that the rich has the resources to abuse it without breaking laws.

Just because this election time we have Hillary Clinton who comes with her own political baggage and many people going I'll never vote for her no matter what. Gives Trump the only advantage. As he wasn't considered a political treat for 24 years. Allowing conservative media to dig up dirt of any type to go against her.

So now we have to vote for the corrupted or the corrupter.

Sure the building may be 125 years old with some unique architecture however it is slowly rotting away. 11. Those people who stay skinny have a genetic predisposition however if a person struggles to keep their weight down it is their fault for not working hard enough. Because you know Calories in vs Calories burned.

Now genetics is only part of the equation. there are thing you can do to put on weight (say weight lifting) or loose weight (sat cardio and diet)

There are too many diet snobs out there telling you that everything you eat is bad. Just as your genetics may make your body digest faster and slower people have different dietary requirements. I tried vegetarian for about 2 months my body didn't like it. I gained weight because I ended up eating more calories to get what my body said it wanted for protein. Now other people are fine on a vegetarian diet because they may not need as much direct protein. Perhaps I have a harder time digesting protein from beans and vegetable than others do.

However all these comments saying how a particular diet is bad and how their body types issues can be fixed with the diet changed that worked for them is just lazy, shaming of people so they feel morally superior due to their foods that they eat.
