How is iOS an inferior OS? How is OS X and inferior OS?
I mean this isn't like back in Windows 95/98/ME days where other OS's were full 32 bit and had a file system that had security options. iOS is really setting the bar for Android, WebOS and Windows Mobile to meet.
Sure the compitors come out with features iOS doesn't have... However if they are considered important iOS gets them in the next version. iOS has features the other guys don't have and they get them in the next version.
So how are people who choose an iPhone being fooled twice... Or once...
It is also part of China's culture. The Chinese tend to prefer isolationism and doing things themselves. Where in the short term (The next 20-50 years) does have advantages however in the long term if it ends up cutting themselves from the rest of the world may bring them back to their third world status again.
The United States has some of this in our culture, however the US culture tends to have a Duality in its culture which is often confused with being a nation of Hippocrates. So while we will openly work with others, we take great pride on what we can do ourselves.
But China really doesn't have that Duality in its culture. I would expect those are just as they say GPS system made by and controlled by China. Not so much because they have a problem with the US GPS but because it isn't theirs and their culture of We are China, we are the worlds largest country by population, and 3 or 4 by (Roughly the same as the United States, where if you add or remove disputed land) land mass. They feel that they really should have the rights to have their own. Without having to deal with the US and trust us. It is matter or pride for them.
If you are going political. Why are those liberal educators wasting money on digital boards when the kids needs text books? Because they don't want the republicans to be right. So when they say we are spending too much money and it isn't effective so we will cut your budget. The school then in turn spends what they have on the wrong stuff at the expense of the kids education, just to show the public how evil those republicans are.
A fanboy will defend his product on all levels and be quite joyous for any victory it obtains as a major victory. A hater will find any flaw and use it why the product sucks, and any setback they will quit joyous as it will seem like a major victory.
Using a chess analogy. Apple just lost a pawn. They knew it will happen. But in the mean time apple has Horton market share and mind share (where all other devices will need to be compared with apples)
It isn't any one side. They all do it. How did the Bush administrations get us involved in the war with Iraq. When asked about WMD their response it is a "Slam Dunk". That really stopped all questions about WMD until the war went on and no major Weapons were found.
They are only Evil when the other side proposes it.
These are extending those Bush Tax Cuts, in which the Democrats heavily opposed to... However as we approach an election year and their #1 man needs to get reelected having him raise taxes will make him look bad.
So they change the verbiage around to make it fit their party better. So except for a way stimulate the economy it is helping the middle class.
It is interesting on the power of words. By adding a term calling it "Security Theater" it basically puts an end to the argument because the phrase is so catchy that it must be true.
Or just by using a negative connotation to a concept is enough to get people to change their mind.
I have learned to turn on my BS alarm when people start using words that give an emotional response. And challenged them much further to prove their point. Sometimes they do have a point, but using wording in your argument to evoke an emotional response isn't a valid argument.
Schools shouldn't waste money on computer labs, (Keep a few computers in the library for real research on the net) because schools don't teach kids how to really use computers. They teach them the lameo stuff over and over again. How to use Word, Excel, Powerpoint and look up crap on the web.
Back in my day, in 4th and 5th grade we had computer classes and what did they teach to these 9-12 year olds How to program in Basic or Logo, how to use the computer to solve problems.
Today computer education is a wast of everyone's money.
So you are implying that the goodness of Linux will mean it will be raptured leaving a hell like world with only Mac and PC desktops. or the other way around?
As said by an Android Fan boy... Or perhaps an Apple Hater.
If Android gets too popular, Apple only needs to do a few things if Android tables get too popular.
1. Open the app store doors a bit more. (This isn't technical they just need to change their rules to allow more apps in the do things they are currently rejecting) 2. Allow Android comparability. Android Apps are Java Based. Apple can put in a java interpreter and run Android apps. (So to the buyer... This things runs Android and iOS apps while this only runs Android... I guess I will pick the first one) 3. Marketing bombardment. Apple has the money, they can market the heck out of their products.
For android to become a major threat to the iPad they will need to ether produce something that is just as good as the iPad and a LOT cheaper or at around the same price something a LOT Better then the iPad and that includes smoother scrolling.
No, I didn't say anything like that. It is just all the new stuff we are learning about physics are now needing more expensive and complicated tools to discover them. Making many of the Institution of learning inadequate to the job of increasing our understanding of the universe because the money and resources it takes to discover these new ideas.
I think it is an issue that most game graphics have reached a peak with the current rendering technology. Where you need exponential work (In man power) to get a linear improvement.
Black and White text... All find and good until we need a graph. Back and White graphics... Now only if it could do color. CGA... What bad colors. EGA... Looking a lot better if only we could get some shading and skin tones. VGA... Enough visible colors to make realistic pictures. But a higher resolution will make it better. SVGA... (The first good peak) OK static images are looking good, we can watch movies, but game animation is limited and 3d is getting popular. 3d cards. if we could get more polygons per second... More textures... Alpha Channels... Smoothing... That is where we are now. Right now we have reached a limitation where we can display what we want to display. However the next steps will require new rendering methods that make graphics easier to create.
These sub-prime loans wasn't an attempt to be a scheme but to reduce risk to allow for more people who couldn't get a home to get one. The problem was because risk was reduced these loans were given to people who really shouldn't have been able to get a home, however the risk to the lender was so low that that it was OK for them to give it out.
Cheap Loans for the Lower Middle class so they can buy a home and live an American Dream. Sounded good, and not evil. They just didn't expect that it would collapse like it did when rates began to rise. Sure some did but they are often from the group of people who always thinks everything causes trouble.
We as humans make choices on priorities on lives, we balance our long term goals with our short term ones. The very rich are always focusing on their long term goals with little focus on any short term ones. The very poor rarely think in terms of long term goals. If they have the money, they will spend it.
Now there are trade offs for both. Most of us are trying to reach a good middle ground where we have enough money to grow and enough free time to relax and enjoy life while we can live it.
The political argument is that welfare makes the people who live day to day less motivated to go out and plan for the future because they got enough for today and that is good enough. The other argument is if you don't have enough planning for the future is near impossible because all your funds will just go to surviving.
The idea of cutting taxes. Is taking in the assumption that the government isn't efficient with the money and so people rich and poor will get more out of not paying the taxes then government will give back to them as services. About 1/3 of my paycheck gets taken for state and federal taxes and pre-tax benefits. And I am probably only befitting from a fraction of this. The rest is wasted into inefficient spending of money. It should make me angry. A lot of the problem we have isn't because of lack of money it is how they use the money they got.
It is if you can get a job as one. And if you find that sort of stuff interesting.
However it could be argued that is is also becoming worse to be a physicist. We need larger and more expensive methods of discovering the next step. The discoveries of old can be done in a normal college lab. With say a million dollars worth of equipment enough for a normal institution to invest in. The new stuff is taking billions of dollars, to find. So discoveries are limited to what large governments are willing to pay for.
Because real life has to compromise. In that though you should be a big supporter of those Tea Party Republicans who will vote down any tax raises. They are standing by their guns and sticking to their promises even though they are obviously bad for the United States.
For the most part politicization have a list of things they really want, a list of nice to get, and a list they can take it or leave it. When they are compromising for a bill they will try to put it all out in the table (both sides) then they will slowly take out the lower priority items as the other side does the same, until you get a bill that both sides doesn't really want but it is better then nothing.
The US Government isn't designed to run fast, it is designed to be slow and offer small solutions.
A political stance against big government control, isn't evil. Most politics are not based of evil, it is based on people thinking what is best.
The Hard Noes republicans, who are against all sorts of government services such as welfare and unemployment, are not for it because they want to watch people suffer in poverty, but feel the government need to give them some tough love to get them off their butts and work for themselves.
The Hard Noes democrats, who are all for massive government services and expenditures, are not for it because such costs could bankrupt the United States, but feel there is a set of services that all people in a wealthy country such as the United States should all get.
"amusing or a dirty trick, depending on your politics??"
I am not a fan for Newt Gingrich but this is a dirty trick.
People who want to learn about the candidate will want to go to their web site to see their official stance on things. This is an attempt to keep the public misinformed by the opposition.
Mr. Gingrich has a sorted political past, and if you go to the others web sites they will tell all about it. You really need to hear his side too for people to get a full picture of who you should be voting for.
Lets all complain how stupid the voters are and they don't do their research, then in the same breath we reward and pat on the back members of your political beliefs their attempt to misdirect the public to only see their views.
With the exception of Amazon, it seems like big players of the early 00's who are now considered the old phogies of the tech market is trying to buy off the other old phogie.
The issue is if someone opens the hood in their car and says replaces their oil with anti-freeze or does something stupid, the automotive industry is mature enough to tell the user that what they did was wrong and will cost them an arm and a leg to get it fixed. And the end user will not get too much sympathy on the internet for doing such a stupid thing. However for these consumer devices if someone who really doesn't know what they are doing roots their device then does something stupid, they will post and state how bad their product is and there will be a bunch of supporters ready to jump to support him in his quest to say how bad the product is because he did something that messed up the device that he couldn't fix. The information is passed on to other people and over time they forgot all about the rooting business and it will sound like the product is just an insecure junk that randomly breaks.
The PC's and Laptop's were able to mature before the internet where anyone who complained or in the right enough will get noticed. So we are able to get PC and Laptops that we can do advanced stuff with... The new products are ultra secured not really because the company doesn't want people to be creative with their product, but because their market stance is so thin right now that bad PR from a small sets of idiots will kill their business. And the fact right now it is hip and cool to hate those evil money grubbing corporations, who are trying to innovate and make some cool new products, that bad news and problems spread like wild fire, and anyone who tries to support the company sounds like one of those apologizers or sell offs.
Collage grads get hired in June and July and get about 3, 4 months under their belt get use to what they need to do and start getting a little sloppy. Also there is the rush to get the project out before the end of the year.

But I make so much money. No one will bet on the boxer as the toddler is too cute.
But would you have eaten people who could be your friend but aren't.
