This seems pretty nonsensical to me. If you don't get it why do you feel compelled to comment about it? The entire point of advertising is to reach those groups most likely to respond to your product. Exclusion of a demographic of people is counter productive of trying to reach people who may respond to your product. Life without discrimination isn't even really life.. you can't even acknowledge a difference between right and wrong, good or evil. It's like we're trying to unmake ourselves. As cultured humans, we should be able to apply intelligent ethical determinations on our discrimination. If you spend too much effort into trying to justify being cruel or hurtful to other people, perhaps you need to revalues your life choices. You need to step back if figure, is this really a job a Woman cannot do? Chances are for 99.9999% of the jobs out there a woman can actually do the job. Excluding them the opportunity just because of their gender is wrong, and also not practical, because you are artificially limiting your available labor supply. Sure you may get 100 applicants and 1 would be a woman. But she could be qualified or more so then the others.
Exactly. The iPhone camera has never been a superior camera to real full fledged digital cameras (of their time). And for Phone Camera's I doubt for the average user that they will see a difference from an iPhone X to an iPhone 6 and defiantly not compared from an iPhone X to a Google Pixel 2. Now in the hands of an experience photographer they will probably be better off with a real camera, as such device is designed to make good quality images, and not just an add on feature. But for us. Not much of a difference.

Coding is 25% intelligence and 75% effort. If someone is willing to do the effort then they should be able to contribute, if their code is crap, then don't put it in. As their current contribution didn't meet the standards needed for this deployment. They should feel free to learn and try again, perhaps the next time they may have something brilliant.

No I am comparing Apple in 2018 with Microsoft in 1998. Both at their biggest and most influential moment, considered unstoppable juggernauts. During this Time, Microsoft was pushing its already Dated DOS Based OS's like Windows 98 just because it was a cheap upgrade for them to make, and embedded IE to make sure it loads up faster then Netscape. While Microsoft had its superior Windows NT 4 it was just targeted towards businesses and not the home user, because they were afraid to break compatibility with the old DOS Games. Apple iOS is Unix based like OS X is. The Android market which is a big competitor is still flourishing and growing along with Apple. While strong competitors, they are not trying to underhand each other like Microsoft did, but more playing to each products strengths and pointing out the others weaknesses.
Being that the OS has cleanly closed the offending application is a big deal for OS security and design. Just like how you don't need to reboot your Linux system if your Application hits a Segment fault.
On many other systems, after your app fails, you can't trust the stability of the OS. And will reboot after a failure. Today if an App unexpectedly quits, we just start up again.
But for the end user even the expert, we don't care why the App failed, just that it did.
Sure Apple is a big evil company, but compared to Microsoft 20 years ago. At least they are releasing good products. Even iOS 11 which had a lot of problems was still rather stable and solid compared to other systems.

I am not disagreeing that their are problems with today's unions. But the real issue is all the political pressure put on teachers. They have to walk tight ropes around History and the roll of religion, racism, the times we have done bad things and good things, then Science coverage of Evolution, Geology, and now if the earth is even round! They are politicians elected into office and the school board, who have no idea about education and push sweeping changes, trying to cut the budget. There are parents who think they are Mr(s) bigwig and try to fire the Teachers just because their kid isn't as special as they thought, or the kid needed to be punished for their actions. Unfortunately without the union taking a lot of the political heat for the teachers, we would just see massive turnaround in teachers, just because it would be a matter of time until anyone did something to piss someone off politically or personally.

Trying to train kids today to be Tech Employees for your company in 20 years would be a failing goal. The industry changes too fast 20 years ago. Amazon.com sold books nearly exclusively 20 years ago. If Amazon was to do this 20 years ago to bring up future low level amazon employees, they would be focused on a Lot of Library Science Skills with some HTML and server side programming, where they would be finding ways to categorize books better.
That and having a a full 6 hours away from your parents without crying. At this age, most learning is from exploring and not so much structured classes. A good preschool would be setup for allow a lot of learning, with the teacher using gentile guidance to prevent the child from making false connections. Such as seeing a turtle and thinking it is a rock, and learning some rocks can grow feet and a head and walk away.
Education by itself in its own little bottle does little to improve human kind. Those are the mythical academics who sit posh furnished college offices and debate the abstract idea of the day. No matter how smart you are if you are not contributing to the rest of the world you are useless. Education for the longest time had a factor of one degree or an other to prepare people to be useful to the outside world. Before Public Education, the masses just learned how to do what their parents did. Farming mostly. Then with the move from aquaculture to industrial the general population needed still that was one reserved for the few and rich, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. So Public Schools were put in to insure we have a workforce able to handle the new jobs. K-8 Education was good enough to get you a job worthy middle class. High school education would get you an office job, or at least a Foreman/Supervisor role. College well that is upper management material. Now that we are moving from an industrial economy to a technical/service economy. K-8 is worthless, High school will get you some low end job, College Degree you may get Middle Class. The issue is the fact that these new jobs require less general education and more focused education. In many ways it is unfair to have kids make life decisions at an early age on what direction they should go, however if the Education System was altered to allow for more focused learning with majors before college and even high school. I expect we can get the skills needed a little easier.

I remember one of his quotes "Like everyone else, I was the best programmer in the world" Linus does have a sense of introspection of his personality. However I think being king for too long, he may have let it slip. Which is why I welcome his statements, compared to the recent posts about him going onto some bizarre rants with developers with a different approach to a problem.
As a successful project lead, you need to say No to good ideas. Often because it will not fit into a long term plan, break compatibility, or just reduce the number of people available who can maintain such design. When you are in project management role, it is easy to net see these as good ideas that don't fit. Just as something that doesn't fit, and forget that other people cannot read your mind, and doesn't interpret the same long term goals you are trying to reach. But their ideas are often good ones. That Memory Management system optimized for a Smart Refrigerator may be a great design. But Linux isn't designed for smart Refrigerators, but Smart Refrigerators may be designed to run Linux, and that inefficiency isn't worth the effort in fixing.
The news is real, however they are acting it up to get your attention. If you are going to be on TV, then you need to exaggerate your point, not lie. I am sure the reporters are fighting the wind, and it is dangerous. However they will exaggerate how hard they are to stand up. If they don't then people are not going to take the situation seriously. Hey look at that 90lbs reporter, she can deal with 100mph winds, my house should be fine.
Location, Location, Location. Country and Suburbs will eat at home much more, City Folks will eat out more. Due to greater availability of restaurants, and smaller kitchens in their apartments, which makes cooking more difficult.
Eating out is suppose to be a special occasion thing, or for convince when you are not near a kitchen. However for the most part we just cook our own meals. Guess what for a basic meal it isn't that hard and you can cook for a family for about as much as one serving at a fast food restaurant. Heck when I was laid off back in 2008 I got a whole chicken for about $5.00 baked it. Then after we had our dinner, I shaved off the extras for sandwiches, and boiled it down with the bones to have chicken soup for a couple days. Yes by the end of the week I was sick of chicken, but it was a good idea that I had money to pay the mortgage and car payments. Granted I was lucky enough to get an other job in a couple of weeks, however I needed to save up. For those pesky millennials who are still trying to save up for this middle class life style, cooking at home vs wasting money on prepared food is a good plan. Even if you are not a chief of even a good cook you can normally make yourself a decent meal. Unlike the boomer time and before, we now can google how to cook nearly anything now. This is how our grandparents/great grandparents lived, very few went to a restaurant every day for their meals. It was a special thing, for every once in a while. The Boomer generation who didn't want to force women to cook, and were too manly for the men to do the cooking, had a generation who ate out more. And now in their 70's suffering from diabetes and demanding their Social Security Checks or are still working, because where did all their money go.
Well if we assume it is the guy playing the game and playing with a female character you could bring up adultry because he is spending all his time looking at the animated cartoon curvy butt. Being that is isn’t involved with the wife or household activity we can say desertion. Unreasonable behavior yelling and screaming and cursing when some kid kills you.
I agree though that there are probably other things going on too. But I expect they may be able to pull some legal excuses to get the point across to meet the law requirement.

You can be hard on developers without offending a group of people, who attributes are unrelated to the topic that needs to be corrected.
Probably faster, because there will be a lot less trolling and more focus on the technical issue at hand vs Alpha Geek Chest Thumping.
