From what I gather from the summary and the article this may be over a legitimate patent. You know, one that includes a physical device and implementation. Not sure if that is true since they are being extremely vague in all references to it.

  3. Tell me something. When the new version of the Nazi's comes to take you to an "internment camp" how much time do you have to find your key and remove the trigger lock? Do you think you will have that much time before you have a gun in your face?

  4. That answer is simple. The cap on draino does not keep you from using it.
A gun with a trigger lock is completely useless in any situation when the gun is needed.

  5. There are many weapons that you can only get legally if you are the military, a police force, or private security force(I don't know why they get an exception). You cannot get any fully automatic weapon which was manufactured after a specific date(sometime in the 1970's) You cannot get ammunition designed to penetrate armor, no ammunition which is explosive, nothing more explosive than fireworks, the list goes on.
Weapons are also controlled by manipulating the price with regulations. For instance, a police department can buy a fully automatic m-16 rifle for around $75. The closest thing you can get to that will cost several thousand and will require you to buy a permit which also costs several thousand dollars each year. This limits ownership of an entire class of guns to the wealthy.

  6. Re:Wrong industry? on Source Code On Trial In DNA Matching Case (post-gazette.com) · · Score: 1

This isn't about copyright, it is a patent in question. Which makes me think a bit. In a patent you have to describe in detail how the device works so that after the patent expires others can easily emulate it. Shouldn't that mean the source code itself is required to be contained in the patent?

Yes, that is the sound of knees being jerked that you hear. These people are so damn terrified of the feminist SJW's that they worry greatly that a name shortened to the old standard three letter extension might offend the professionally offended.

This is the real damn problem that is being discussed here. When you have to police every insignificant thing you do for fear of some hyper-sensitive two year old in an adult's body could take anything you do as a direct attack against them, and then ruin you and your project over it, then there is a serious problem which needs dealt with.

  8. The real problem is that it is just one party with two faces.

  9. I think that you have a serious misunderstanding of what the word conspiracy means. Let me enlighten you.

    conspiracy
    knspirs/
    noun:
    conspiracy; plural noun: conspiracies

a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.
"a conspiracy to destroy the government"
    synonyms: plot, scheme, plan, machination, ploy, trick, ruse, subterfuge;
    informal racket
"a conspiracy to manipulate the results"

Notice how it does not say anything like:

A label to be placed on someone with an inconvenient opinion, or an opinion which does not coincide with your own.
