Okay, so were suppose to take the opinion of a non technical site, esp. one shaking the hand of MS and believe what they say? The shame is, everyone who reads that article that not at all technical, probably will take it for something.
This has to be very interesting for game devlopers that are writing specifically for win32 and have only thought about porting to other OS's but have not due to lacking directx8 support.
We know this, because our logs include the Web address where visitors browsed from; when people click there from a Microsoft Exchange email message, Exchange helpfully gives us the subject line and username.
whats ironic/funny is, how exchange actually helped to point it out. you would think if they were going to do this, they would do it right and strip some of the referrer off before it got out. just shows how smart they are. =)
... we (the US) should just bomb the hell out of all thses rouge countries untill they have no more resources (or too few of) and people to do this kind of thing. its either their innocent or ours.

its going to happen, no matter what. this idea is going to be turned into a source for warez.
and as its been posted before.. "its only going to get worse"
after thinking about it though, the fact that they actually pay some company to look for people breaking the law with software (that i have no clue how it can tell the diffrence between a real movie or my brothers graduation) makes me kind of wonder if the MPAA is better off just not trying to go after pirates. i mean, seriously, if these people are pirating the software, would they even pay for it if they couldent pirate it? and if they could pay for it, would they? which makes me wonder if the MPAA and RIAA is doing nothing more then throwing away good money.
seriously, im almost sure the cost of stopping pirates is far more then the damage pirates cause. if the MPAA and RIAA wants to throw millions away at an attempt to stop them, then they can give me the money and i'll throw something together using perl and finger.. bah!
i seen a lot of stories about schools actually wanting to use linux insted of whatever, but how many of them actually pan out and move forward with it?
i dont think i have ever really seen any linux -> *nix compairsons... everyone is so interested in the linux -> windows compairson that seeing how it would perform with other unix platforms has not really showed up. (at least i dont think)
not to disclose any information that concerns the security of your investment is a waist, it hides the potential(sp) for someone to exploit that fact. any and all security information should be released upon the finding of it, after that, it is up to the company/admins to take care of it there after. in my opinion, anyone that is complaining about code red is someone that has obviously been bit by it, and right out it shows that they dident take the time to deal with it 2 months before it was a problem in the first place.
OpenGL is as good if not better then Direct3D.
think about it, OpenGL spec has not changed in how long and what kind of games are being produced with it?... quake3, doom3, tribes2.
basically all the best. im not a graphics programmer, but i think its safe to say something is good when the best choose it.

i like to see devices like these. ihave a tivo and love it, except for the $hitty modem they put in it.
today must be a good day for copyright violations and piracy, becase the stories just keep comming in.
and to be honest, the cant be a good thing..
$5 bet that the MPAA goes right after the new HP DVD burner, and the statment that they are doing so gets posted here!!!

they are doing a good job. i really wish they would do a little better. its a shame, because they are a bit ahead of their time.
be, i always thought had potential... lets hope palm makes something good of it.
