Who cares? If people devoted this much time and energy into other (more useful) things we might have been able to cure cancer by now. Or who knows what else.
Thats the sound of your rights being chipped away.
I hate to bring this up, but I always believed that the Second Amendment is the perfect gauge to how much you have lost your rights in this country. Less Second == less rights.
Even if you don't think were just sheeple now, were really not far from being worse.
Really? Never would have guessed that! They already managed to crap all over the rest of the constitution. I guess the First Amendment is all thats left.
That can't be right. I thought the Duke Nukem Forever release was defined as the last discrete event to happen before the universe collapses completly.
... that needs to be used to cover their selfs in court.
Its funny when a big (well maybe not) company like SCO steels from everyone and then uses that money to try and make a good name for them selfs with at least one person.
I dont disagree with Carly's comment, and I dont think there ever was a job that was a god given right.
However I do think these people are shooting them selfs in the foot with these kinds of moves. Sure they will save money in production costs, but who in the US is going to buy their goods if no one is making the money to buy it?
The living standard here in the US has maxed out, and there is no place to go but down.
but I always thought this camwhore crap to be nothing but poop. When I first herd of jennycam was right after it opened up. I took one look and realized how interested lonely people and perverts were going to be. Fact being, I never really found her attractive nor interesting.
Now we have all this other voyeur crap like Big Brother and other such reality BS I could choke. Anyhow... birth of a new fad? And hopefully the death of one too.
They were called neutron bombs. Although not the same thing, I suspect the same fate. There are too many people out there that want to see nukes go, there is no way a new weapon is going to make it in this world.
Suppose someone has yet to be shocked in this situation. It would still be good to know that a company is not putting out crap, and if it is, it fixing the problem. Thats more then I can say for a lot of there companys/products out there.
I dont disagree that the private sector could do it a lot better, but the private sector needs a reason too first. i.e. "nasa finds cure to cancer on mars!"
-- now how quick do you think the pharmaceutical companys would be trying to get there?
and it would be government funding to get at least that far. without a good payoff, companys(sp) are not even going to look at it.
is one of the few places where I don't mind seeing my tax money used more often. Its a shame more money can't be dedicated to this field of research. A new reusable space shuttle that dosent require expendable fuel tanks or boosters would be a big benifit.
No one sent me the memo!!

Yeah! Their like ants. You might crush a few on their own, but in masses, they will eat you alive.
Thats a great idea. But then it would require each browser developers to actually follow the standards.
I don't see how. Standards on looks should be the last thing posters on Slashdot should worry about.

You mean they are still putting this distro out?
Got my start on Slackware.
FCC = more government bloat = more tax payer dollars

Nah.. Thats not possible. They need more time.

Now when the prices start dropping, I will buy.
I'd like to see them sue me... They can have my box under the bridge and 1.05 in change.
Not to be off topic, but with the advent of things like spambayes, I now check all my email addresses.

Man, the tools are there, learn how to use them. Dependency Hell is a thing (almost...) of the past.
Slackware: tar/gzip/bzip2/gcc/make
Almost, for sure.

Seeing as how many of thses things are sold, Dean Kamen must be a little happy about this.
Of course, the last thing we need are gang members with 'gats' riding these down the hood.

I buy a dvd burner when they start supporting multi layerd disks. so, prolly never.
See what happens when women get a hold of stuff.
