Take your pick. Let people know what you download, or don't download things. Free music has a price, and it's really not all that bad if your computer doesnt have anything REALLY incriminating on it. No, I'm not saying spyware is good, I'm saying that given the choices, it's not THAT bad.
That and linux kazaa run as a restricted user would yield some interesting spyware data:)
sp, it was Elbonians, not Albonians. And they weren't secret, they bought out the company after they made a fortune selling the mud that was their country as a cosmetic product. Or am I the only one geeky enough to remember that strip?
Will it protect it from the wierd guy in networking that once shorted out the phone system while rewiring his ethernet port because he decided it was too slow for his everquest games? Is it armored to protect it from the REALLY wierd guy from R & D that was running around the comms room with a broadsword?
(The really sad part is, I'm not kidding. I actually work with these people.)
But just think about the possibilities with that. The instant hair dryer. The ultimate electric blanket. The McDonalds Happy-Meal sized flame thrower (the kids love that one).
That they even are considering our opinions important enough to set up an address for them. Which means they are at least ACKNOWLEDGING some discontent about the decision.
Why did Jack of all trades get canceled? It was one of the better shows in that timeslot, and Bruce sure made it worth watching. Was it a corporate budget cut, the victim of execs without humor, what?
I stay indoors in a dark room while coding so often that the cameras will never find me! What is this outside world you speak of, I know nothing beyond cubeland and break-room.
I got my 60GB (not sure if its a 60gxp or the 75gxp) from edgemicro about 2 weeks ago. Working fine so far, performance is much better than my old Maxtor's. We had a server with dual 40giggers running a heavy load for 2 months (i.e. full dd once a week, all 40 gigs, even blank data). So far nothing has gone wrong, and the speed on the drives is amazing. I guess I may be in for a show (good thing I kept the maxtors for backups).
Ok, its a change in the minor version of the OS. Think win98->winme, or anything->winxp. Or even linux2.2->2.4. Xfree 3.x->4.x. SOMETHING breaks. Whether it be 3d support, drivers for anything (or everything), or if its hardly recognizable as the same program, when the minor version number (or the major version number for that matter) goes UP, support for something must come DOWN. Either that or UP and DOWN or just two keys on my keyboard, I can't see straight enough to tell.
The biggest problem is not routing, but bandwidth. All of these wireless devices arent running gigabit backbone connections, but 56k speeds or less. Modern routing would require only a few modifications to work with this, but such a network would use enormous amounts of bandwidth, and with current speeds, it would pretty much DoS itself offline if it got big enough.
But that process is a duplication without intent to keep as a legal backup. Which is already illegal. The licenses don't need to account for those. I think the real issue is not the sale of the software for itself, but the transfer of hte license. As soon as you register that software with their database, though the net or whatever, that license number is associated with you. Again, not saying that I agree with it, but the way the current licensing setup works with most of these companies, it becomes very difficult to argue something without them giving a just as valid counter argument. (even if it's not a truthful one)
Being a student at this point, I don't have any absolute need for income. I work with my own company out of my friend's basement. We manage enough income to pay for the power bills. Our current goal is to learn as much as possible about both computers and electronics as well as business that we can have a workable product out the door by the time we finish college. The best part is that by the time we actually expect income off of this we will have made many connections inside the business world and gained enough experience that we will have a better chance of success. Hopefull y the economy will be a bit better in 4 years when we get out of school.
That law is called obstruction of justice. If you have a key, it can be subpoena'd at any time, if they can prove to a judge that your encrypted data may include things necessary to procede with a trial. If you don't hand it over, or conveniently "lose" your copy, you get hit with obstruction of justice and you look like an incompetant fool who can't even keep track of his own crypto keys.
At this point, I'm expecting an official declaration of war against afghanistan (and after Saddam's last speech, possibly Iraq too) any day now. Until that happens, we should rally for our rights. But as soon as we are officially at war, we have no rights whatsoever. That's the way war works. And considering the direct and immediate threat at hand, I would rather have my car searched at state borders than my car blown up at starbucks. As long as they don't outlaw encryption and free press, I'll keep my mouth shut. Feel free to argue, it's my opinion, not yours.
Crystals arent molecules at all. Crystals are crystal lattices, which are all ionic compounds. molecules are covalent. Which one of you was it that didnt learn anything in chemistry again?
Uhh, say what? You're having second thoughts about sending us money? If you got a check in the mail, with no strings attached, would you send it back? (btw, if anyone wants to send ME money, by all means just ask for a fscking address)
I'm 17 and I run my own corporation. We officially incorporated Q2 this year and my responsibilities include financial and legal issues. I got into this kind of stuff very young, possibly because I was labeled a "nerd" and didnt' have many friends til high school. Most people wonder how I can handle this kind of stuff at my age, but it's just everyday life for me.
It's not the kids fault for being idiots and talking ot people online that they never knew and then going out behind their parents backs and getting molested. And it's certainly not the parents fault for not watching their kids internet habits. IT's all the pedophiles and their evil toxic vapors. Just like Microsoft is really good but open source has been drugging the water and making us think GPL is good.
I was planning to buy one with windows installed (as my college requires it) and install linux manually. As long as they keep selling the linux compatible hardware (namely the PSION modem and Xircom LAN card) I'm happy.
And you thought they smelled bad outside...

They're trying to say "stop finding holes faster than we can make...err...fix them". My my what a cheap political backstab.
Just because they are LOUDspeakers doesn't mean they have to be QUALITY speakers. They just have to be LOUD.

Ok, is this surprising to anyone? (Not the updated packages, those are a shock) But if anyone WASNT expecting those cutbacks, lemme know.

Providing advice to a Hacker == criminal offense? Doesn't legal counsel count as advice? Isn't that protected under the 5th ammendment?
