At least in the US, you're right. Moreover, they will charge you a large deposit upfront if you want to get an Internet, phone, or other service without a score/high score.

My country has a different approach as to credit. It's a database with "faults". If you fail to pay stuff, they can report you. And people querying the database will know how "good payer" you are. This sounds more appropriate for a country with a legal system following the "you're innocent until proven guilty".

Nevertheless, there's always a stupid company that gets you in the database just because a glitch or problem and then, when you try to get some loan, it's a hell of a problem to know who added you, why, and try to get yourself out of the problem.

While I still think their MPG is a joke. I wouldn't let myself get confused with marketing words such as "Up to". That means in controlled environments, with particular conditions they manage to get that "50%" (See that this is a percentage rather than a value, meaning that the increase can be from 10mpg "up to" 15mpg, which is still low, and drivers may not even see this improvement based on their driving habits).

People should be more aware of that, because as you said, I've seen people driving suburbans/yukon or the like, by themselves to the store, which to me, unless you're planning on buying cows makes no sense whatsoever.

Yes, I don't know why downloading the maps into the Nokia seemed to be such a big problem for the PCPro guys, when that would save them access to the network and bytes in their data plan.

My GF has a Nokia E75, and while they don't provide free navigation they provide free maps. The navigation is an add-on that costs $40 a year (just for this particular phone), the installation of the maps was a easy, but of course takes time to move the whole US info into a microsd card through the USB.

They should have tried it, the GPS seems to be very accurate on the phone, or at least what the trial license demonstrated.

I think you have it wrong. If you go to check the content, why do you have to bear with annoying third party ads?

I know some revenue comes from ads, but viewers should have a way to discriminate ads, improve the site appearance and provide feedback to mediocre marketeers. What if your public TV decided to, instead of having 5 minute commercial breaks, add dancing bananas or jumping smiles in the middle of the screen when you're watching a show? That is disrupting and annoying and even if someone paid for those ads, sooner or later the TV station will realize that they need to take care of their customers and better select the ads they present.

I think there should be a way of voting for ads in a page, people will get the ads they like and content providers could still put ads that are appealing to people.

Why would you want people to judge your great content by the crappy ad a third party decided to place on your page?

While HUGHES has good history with satellite communications, I'd say that using a BGAN terminal (which appears to be for land) may not correctly work as well on water. As our friends at Apple should learn, radio frequencies have to be carefully analyzed.

Earth does not reflects RF signals as water. RF bouncing on moving water can become a multipath living hell, thus I'd believe that solutions involving open sea should be better targeted to big boats and should be very conflicting and expensive on small ones.
