He probably thinks that getting a rocket in to a stable orbit, delivering long term useful cargo, and then landing on a moving barge in the ocean is a LOT harder than shooting a rocket practically straight up and coming right back down to land.
I use almost all google's stuff, and the only place I even notice any ads from them is on the web search page. I don't recall ever seeing a google ad on my android phone.
If that little bit of annoyance on the search page is all I have to give up to get all the awesome tech they bring, then sign me up for more.
IIRC there was an issue some years ago about how Amazon would check your system for recent cookies from other shopping sites (like bn.com), offering better prices on the fly if it appeared you'd been shopping around.
I believe there would be several automated trips before-hand to drop off supplies and materials so that the first colonists have some things waiting for them.
Who's going to pay any attention to a duffel bag with a spy camera hidden in it? There are far cheaper and easier ways to do the exact same things you are talking about. Why go to all the trouble?
The problem is weather or not we NEED unlimited data. The problem is that we don't want to pay out the ass, at extortionate rates, if we happen to go over our allowance. I don't want to worry about a surprise $100 on my bill because my phone decided to download the latest OS update.
So a single story from one user who doesn't seem particularly computer savvy is now definitive proof? I know you all hate Microsoft, but come on guys, be reasonable.
There was nothing to save. The driver was dead, the fire could be contained from a safe distance. What could be gained by taking the, admittedly small, risk?
I'm curious what OEMs you're aware of that even offer the *option* of an alternate or no OS coming preinstalled.
Dell is one such example, but it's not easy to find it on their website even if you know exactly what you're looking for; and it's definitely not something they advertise in physical stores. I don't think it's an option for Acer, ASUS, Lenovo, Toshiba, Sony, Samsung, LG, or MSI.
There's some very small companies that sell computers with Linux preinstalled such as System76, but their visibility among non-Linux enthusiasts is fairly negligible.
Polywell does it too, but they may fall in to "small" company bucket.
The OnePlus One was a better value, but the Two was pretty clearly lacking in the bang-for-the-buck catagory. The Three is better than the Two, but missing some key features IMHO.
Arguably, Grumpy Cat is only famous for because of the actual meme, not the image alone. The collective internet created that meme, not grumpy Cat's owners.
This could be abused to collect fingerprints from non-theives by allowing them access to the device. It could get legally fuzzy where children are involved.
The Galaxy Nexus was screwed over by Verizon and others over the NFC Payment functionality. They had a competing payment system, known as ISIS at the time, that they were pushing. They held up the launch of the Galaxy Nexus for months until it was no longer a flagship phone. By that time the user base was small and frustrated, it wasn't really worth the continued support.

I think I agree with him.

It is going to get really confusing soon with everything getting named and renamed to "Pixel".

Cookies don't work that way.

Threatening to punch anyone they see wearing them in the face isn't bullying; is that what you are trying to say?
Then will fade away as people realize they don't want to wear dorky glasses with cameras on them.
Plenty of people wanted Google Glass, but they were threatened and bullied by the Luddites, so they stayed silent.
Money enough to buy an open platform phone, like Android.

I've heard that it isn't Bluetooth..
Only one difference: iOS doesn't use it for (yet another) Datamining source
Can you prove that?

Universal healthcare will get you rationing instead.
We already ration healthcare. It's just done based on how much money the patient has, instead of by need.

Sorry, I didn't make my point well. If people smart enough to decode genomes are too dumb to use Excel "properly", what hope do ordinary users have?
I wouldn't call them "dumb", but it could easily fall under "Lazy", or "Not Trained Properly" when it comes to the software.
You can mark applications so that they ignore doze mode.
