How does opening a .zip run the contents? Does the user also have to run the i-know-you-want-to-double-click-me.exe file?

That's an easy one, you count on users trusting Windows. Since the start Windows has screwed users with extensions. Either hiding them or only showing the first encountered.

MyFile.zip.exe was very popular awhile back, it would show as a MyFile or Myfile.zip file, yet run as the hidden .exe file.

As for asking to run it, many have most likely tired of saying yes to the requester and disabled it.

The first thing I do when working on someone's computer is uncheck the box "Hide extensions of known file types".

No Facebook app but Google could be a problem. If they were quick & got into it before I shut it off, they could possibly change my google account password & cause me grief. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a way to get it to work, but I've never gave it much effort.

Not that I disagree. I locked my phone. Fucking fingerprint reader on the back really sucks.

  5. I got a new phone a couple months ago & I've still not got around to locking it. I don't have Android pay or whatever set up (these things will make you set up a password). So what? If I lose it or it gets stolen, I call the provider & get the service shut off. It's sure is convenient to use right now. Am I missing something here?

I guess it's tame by Internet standards and your standards but would you use an accountant that the reviewer described.

    /p>

Would I use the professional services of some who got a bad review? Depends on all the reviews. There are always bad reviews on everything. If I avoided everything with a bad review I couldn't buy a motherboard. Or a laptop. I would read more than one review before deciding. Actually that particular review looks a little emotional & shrill. I may not give it much weight if there were a lot of positive reviews.

Seriously, if that review is slanderous then many (most?) negative reviews are.

    The review:

Too bad there is no zero star option! I made the mistake of using them and had an absolute nightmare. Bill was way more than their quote; return was so sloppy I had another firm redo it and my return more than doubled. If you dare to complain get ready to be screamed at, verbally harassed and threatened with legal action. I chalked it up as a very expensive lesson, hope this spares someone else the same.

The morons are good at making themselves looks smart to upper management. The CFO actually oversees them & is completely ignorant of IT so they find him easy to impress. Even if my employers actually dropped the capital for this, the IT folks here couldn't figure out how to deploy it. Unless the purchase included deployment.. in that case I might be screwed if they read this post. They've proven to be kina vindictive.

Reading the summary tells me they couldn't deploy it in secret. The do have web trackers they only use when they want to build a case on someone (which took them several years to figure out how to deploy). I stay off facebook & twitter at work, & only use the Internet for personal use during lunch. I got a phone if I want to goof off & surf.

Even with proof, I don't see cutting someone loose with nothing. My employers regularly hire competent people but then give them no training or guidance, no leadership at all, then get rid of them for "incompetence". However, they pay the unemployment, you can bet on it. In my state they deny the first application, then the appeal, but if it goes to a hearing on the second appeal, the employee usually wins.
