The opportunity for a theatrical videogame didnt offer itself up to me until i reached college. the console at the time was the psx.
Ill never forget it. I got special permission from the techgoons in the batcave to play anything i wanted in the theater. We watched anime, played games, and generally mucked about. Much to the security gaurds annoyment when i did _indeed_ have a pass to use the theaters.
Games at the time included marvel superheroes, omega boost (WOAH!) and, of course, final fantasy 7. I played most of the way through ff7 in the theater.. and the ending blew my mind.
wow.
of course, there were other varied games and consoles hooked up throughout the year.. even got the snes hooked up a couple times.. starfox was lots of fun.
I only wish i could go back and try it out with Rez.:)
one of my XP-running friends went through this upgrade.. It compleatly trashed all his funky video codecs.. He currently cant watch about 2/3rds of the stuff hes downloaded. Most of them being independant music videos.
has anyone else experienced this?

· Score: 4, Funny
[Linux] Im not dead yet! Im getting Better! I feel fine! I think Ill go for a walk! I feel happy! I feel Happy! I feel Hap~*thunk*
As long as I can use my speakers, I can make a copy. Its not that difficult to understand. Maybe they should stop wasting money on futile "protection" schemes and spend it on adapting to a new business model.
Funny, not-so-well known note on the radio drama series.
Almost all of the releases of it are not the original broadcast. There are a couple scenes that were removed entirely from the tape/cd releases of the show. There is a scene where the background music is a rather psychadelic pink floyd song.. and you hear arthur dent say "and why is the robot making sounds from old pink floyd songs?" (or something like that)
I managed to score a tape of this a long time ago.. it soon vanished afterwards.
this is all from the r2 dvd, does anyone know if its the same in the r1?
Access The Egg
DISC 1 - Move down to bottom of menu then move left to bring up a key pad, key in the time the earth was destroyed: 1146. Displays the complete destruction of the earth sequence and an ad for Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters.
DISC 2 - From the Outer Planets screen, turn on the subtitles. Go up to 'inner planets' and press left. This highlights the words "Dont Panic". Pressing enter plays all the computer readouts for the Heart of Gold display screens.
On the Inner Planets (First Screen) highlight 'Communicate' and press left to highlight the hidden planet Earth Flick about left to right in the middle of the screen to select a hidden planet (earth). This plays the complete credit sequence (with the tunnel through the O lifted right out of the Doctor Who credit sequence)
People will be flipping through the channel and come across pong. They will stop, because everyone recognizes pong. They will see "g4, the videogame network" at the bottom corner. Many people in the target audience will go "duuude, check it out, man, a videogame network.. sweet!.. hey dont bogart that J"
They will look at their tv and say "k, videogame network is channel 42, ill scope it out later." and change the channel.
2 days later.. "what happened to that videogame network.." *flips through channels* "here it is.. woah, coverage of that new ps2 release that everyone is drooling over!"
"Herd-like college kids and knee-jerk political activists associate the term with a broad range of bugaboos, from cultural imperialism to sweatshops to environmental destruction."
incarnations of Metal Slug, Street Fighter 3, and Last Blade 2 are all available on home consoles.
where arcades are really picking up is the bemani games. beatmania, dance dance revolution, para para paradise and other such games. these games rely heavily on the "public" aspect. people put on shows, they dance, they move, when you get off the stage, people applaud. thats how arcades are pulling people in these days, as no home console mirrors the effect of arcade bemani.

"Read all about this fabulous role-playing game.."
how do you know its fabulous? have you played it? has anyone played it?
oh wait, you are ASSUMING its good... okay.. just making things clear
"which runs like the clappers"
what does that mean?
ADV only region-codes when it is required by lisencers. They do not use macrovision.

But no, that would make sense.
hehe.. good luck!

unfortunatly the only emulators ive found that "work" with stunrunner are very glitchy. Definatly unplayable.
Ive always wanted a Stun runner cabinet.. want it 2nd only to street fighter 2 turbo... Maybe when i move into a house

get it?
...that by attacking sites like this, they are simply drawing MORE attention to what they are trying to shut down?
By now dozens of people have mirrored the site, and the possibility of it going away forever has diminished greatly.
Fools.
Ive seen quite a lot of comments that are complaining that Hideaki Anno created End of Evangelion in order to spite the fans.
This is simply not true.
This is a horribly old rumor, and there is no backing to it whatsoever. Id like to kill it right now.
Anno does not hate the fans! He never has!
Actually, the man just got married. I hate to think what his kids will be like *shudder*
escaflowne flopped HORRIBLY in japan. It was completley rejected by both the fan and casual population.
Escaflowne is not a giant robot show. Its a cross-genre experiment. I loved the show, but it flopped horribly in japan.
:)
Genre's contained withing esca include; giant robot, romance, fantasy, war fable.. and a couple others.
I think it all fell together really well.
"Herd-like college kids and knee-jerk political activists associate the term with a broad range of bugaboos, from cultural imperialism to sweatshops to environmental destruction."
Bugaboos?! BUGABOOS?!
oh come ON!
Hes refering to the NES zelda 2.. which was sidescroller and absolute drek.
A horrible game.
Well, why not?
I mean, its not like the person is going to be offended by it.. they are dead, they dont care.
Verizon...
okay, this is odd...
"The type of animation is exactly the same. "
:)
No it isnt.
Futurama uses detailed computer graphics with cel shading, and it shows. The Simpsons are still traditional cel and paint slave labor.
The style and character design, however, are extremely similar.
incarnations of Metal Slug, Street Fighter 3, and Last Blade 2 are all available on home consoles.

nope.
right now ive got my sega genesis w/ segacd, snes, psx and dreamcast hooked up. currently, both of the atari 2600s are in the closet.
im sorry, but if you have ALL of your retirement savings invested in ONE company, then you are a moron.
you should know rule #1... DIVERSIFY!
But generally, those are OAVs, and have a MUCH higher production and lisencing cost then tv shows.
most 26 episode anime tv shows come out on 6 dvds now.
