  1. Well rounded is the goal on Texas Textbooks Battle Is Actually an American War · · Score: 1

Children are sent to school to get a well rounded education. That means they should be taught both sides of the debate. Science has its teachings and so does religion. Schools are becoming progressively liberal and biased. Teachers should be presenting both sides of the debate and limited to social studies only.

I don't care what Google wants to take pictures of. I think it is dead wrong. It is an invasion of privacy in my view. I don't like satellites taking detailed pictures of my property and publishing it to the word. It seems just damn invasive. I think Google Earth and Street View should be shutdown and taken off line FOREVER! This is coming from a guy who thinks government should be minimal at best, but this is an infringement on my privacy and the law should take action against these offenders and any alike. Government should also be limited in using these privacy infringing devices as well.

The only reason I want to save energy is because it costs money. I don't drive a small car because I like it, but because it is not $100 per tank. Global warming is a hoax; just something the liberal media has conjured up by twisting the facts around. If you put the time and effort into the research, you will see exactly what I mean. Polar bears are dieing off because their population is at an all time high and their food supply has remained the same. P.S. they are not friendly and cuddly toy bears!

Food that could be put into starving people's mouths in our own country if we just tapped Alaska for more oil. Good job bleeding heart liberals in Washington!!

I would love to run games on Linux, but there is just not enough support to even get all my hardware recognized. I hope we can overcome this obstacle before everyone is forced to use Vista. I will give up games and go Linux before I ever install Vista.

I hope you guys know that a maximum data transfer rate of 800Mb/s is 100MB/s. We don't know if it is sustained or peak so we are not even guaranteed that. Maybe it does not even matter. A few years ago they came out with this thing called SCSI U320. It is an interface that can support drive speeds up to 320MB/s per channel. If you have a decent controller and a RAID 5, you can get very close to 320MB/s sustained data transfer rates. Don't even get me started on SAS arrays! Sure it may be a little too enterprise level for some people, but before spending the money on unproven hardware, I would choose a proven robust interface. Now, if the author made a mistake and these things run at 800MB/s, then we have a new issue in which we can start talking about 4-10Gb/s Fibre SAN arrays, but I'll leave that for another time. Sorry to shit in anyone's hat, but those are the facts man.

  11. Don't need digital. on FCC Says Analog TV Lives Until 2012 · · Score: 1

Why should I be inconvenienced by having a separate box, separate remote control and no ability to set my VCR to record shows on different channels all so the cable company (which charges too much anyway) can broadcast digital to save THEM money. I am just plain not interested in digital anything to do with TV. I watch less than four shows a week, and frankly, for the trouble, I would rather download them than play the cable company's game. Oh, not only am I paying too much for reruns and commercials, but that box thing costs another $XX per month, per TV. Add that to the not worth it column. I grew up in the country with little to no TV (depending on reception), so it is not a big priority for me. You people with your Tivos and fancy HD plasma TVs can have all you want with this hassle. Oh, how I loathe 2012 for my TV. I ask god to strike his mighty hand down for another push back.

  12. Age does not matter on Brain Differences In Liberals and Conservatives · · Score: 1

I am 20 years old and I consider myself to be conservative. I don't think it is solely based on age nor the lack of processing information, but rather thinking it trough more thoroughly. Liberals tend to jump to new ideas without thinking them trough thoroughly. throughout history, you can see how this can spark revolution or spark failure. Sure, John Kerry agreed with everyone's points of view at the drop of a hat because he is a politician, but he is also more of a risk taker. Fundamentally, liberalism is about change and trying new things; while conservatism is about staying with proven concepts to limit the possibility of unforeseen problems. The war in Iraq is for a good logical reason; it was just poorly implemented and unplanned. Then of course we did not ask for terrorists to hijack our planes and crash them into innocent people.

  14. Update XP on Valve Says Choice to Make DX10 Vista-Only Hurt PC Gaming · · Score: 1

I think Micro$oft should update Windows XP so that before loading a game, it temporarily dumps the GUI and enters a command line mode before running the game to reduce overhead. Of course if the game errors out, the GUI will be reloaded by default. Meanwhile the GUI is rewritten to run on GPU cycles and not CPU cycles. If you are not gaming, your GPU sits there and idles; why not use it for something? All this would support DX10/DX10.1 as well. This is what MS should have spent that 6 years writing. Frankly, I would rather use DOS than Vista. I simply hate the way it runs and looks. I can't find anything I like about it except for DX10 support. Would be nice if Ubuntu could run Windows games better. There are emulators, but I have never used them. Just my 2 cents.

Come on guys, you know it was funny! Anyhow, I have put some long hours into researching the Kenya monkey problem. I have concluded that the best solution involves a 30-06 or 50 Cal. rifle. Yes, it is surprisingly effective at deterring attacks from the local monkeys. As with any logical and plausible solution there is one negative aspect: the mess. On the occasion, after firing the rifle at a monkey, the targeted monkey has a tendency to "explode," if you will. However, the majority of the remnants can be swept and dabbed away with a wet sponge. I don't expect any praise or special recognition for resolving this most controversial and pressing issue of humanity. I merely am satisfied knowing I have helped fellow human beings. Ever sincerely, The_Monkey.

Sure nuclear scares a lot of people but in this case there are two ways to look at it: either encase it in an impenetrable shell or wait for an enemy to shoot it and BANG!! The explosion should be big enough to clear the area. The first option would work well in consumer autos. Now you can be "green" and go hug some trees.

The American people do not want to have federal IDs and passports to travel in THEIR OWN COUNTRY!!! This severe inconvenience and breach of all the flag stands for should not be tolerated by any citizen. Sure, blame it on terrorism.
