    If there is one essential that I'd recommend it is formal training in project management.

    I finished an MBA at a reputable university a few years ago, and the thing that really stuck was project management. Of the various project management approaches I'd particularly recommend PMBOK (project management body of knowledge.)

    This really is "MBA in a box." You will get a good smattering of budgeting, communications, human resources, timing,quality etc, and a way to hold all this stuff together.

    I don't mean to suggest that India is corrupt, but it seems more cost effective to bribe the cops to look the other way. The cop pockets an on the spot fine, the business keeps businessing, life goes on.

    Poor Indian guys that got busted tho.. I guess the own brown-skinned scapegoat is required as a sacrifice for US shareholders to stay happy....

    On a more interesting note, I wonder how much "I didn't see a thing" bribery goes on on in the US. Not meaning to suggest the US is open to corruption or anything...

    The whole notion of viewing the healthcare as a market is brain dead.

    Healthcare can only function in the hands of the government.

    Pay high takes and get good health care. Don't let the corporations greed the cream from the healthcare system for some spurious shareholders.

    This is not a case for bad management. it is certainly possible to manage hospitals efficiently and effectively using sound business principles.. Efficiency and effectiveness most certainly does not require private ownership, as many places of Western Europe will attest.

    US health care is by far from the best in the world. Hate to say it, but Cuba has a lower infant mortality rate than the US.

    In my experience it is only companies that are directly in receipt of US government grants that would bother buying legal copies. It is only the high probability of getting audited by a young white nerd in a suit, and of this directly impacting your income that would make you buy a legal copy. As a result, I would bet 100 yuan it was someone like PWC, KPMG, or the US embassy that bought all 244 copies.

    From these few copies, a few "evaluation" copies will invade the rest of China, and the rest of the web.

    Not just "haha"s but "hahahahahahahahahahahahahhah"s are in order.

    Allofmp3.com has caused a great deal of handwringing among RIAA and friends.

    Despite threats of closedown, such a scenario seems decreasingly likely as Putin blows ever louder raspberries at Bush and friends.

    So...this just seems to create a great opportunity to stream radio from non-US sites.

    I bought one of these second hand recently. Comes with all kinds of nice things and goes around 6 hours on a standard battery. It is about as small as you want to go- I'm thinking about getting a roll-up key board. Very nice. Much sexier and still much cheaper than a new D*ll or something similar. Kind of like a second hand late model Mercedes...way overpriced when new, but still fun when slightly tarnished.

    In Russia, Ukraine etc. you can get a DVD in a plastic sleeve with a color photo of current release movie or software for about US$5.

    Plus you don't need to screw around with downloading.

    The saving in labor from downloading, plus physical medium including packaging for that price seems like a pretty good business model to me.

    Now, all they need to do is to work out how to export this model internationally....

    But an effective franchise for this business model - THAT is a real moneymaker.

    I would venture anything the reason he had to go to court was because some competitor in the same town had paid the inspector to raid him, and take him out.

    I'm around 100% certain these incidents have nothing to do with copyright violations, but are rather an extension of commercial warfare, Russian style.

    Yeah right. There are literally 10s of other AllofMyMp3 like sites. They have flourished like mushrooms. And not just in Russia. They seem to run out of every former Soviet republic.

    Not to mention the incredibly effective job that street based anti-piracy enforcement has achieved.Not.

    At best, it provides another opportunity for the cops to shake down stall holders.

      I think you will find anyone selling pirated CDs finds it easier to pay the cops or copyright inspects an "on the spot fine". That way everyone is happy. The CD software seller gets to keep doing business, the cop is paid, the cops boss gets a cut, and business continues.

    What are you worried about? This is the market is supposed to work, after all.
