    What they need is this in the game.

    Have an enforcement division of the bank that is there to make an example of players wishing to steal from them or people who default on loans, grief them over and over.

    This could be simply a money fund that pays corps/individuals to do their dirty work (lots of work, as they would need to be monitored for performance levels and paid accordingly) or you could actually put the thugs on retainer and they log in each day, look up their list of targets to shake down and clock in like it was a job.

    Yeah, like using windows Media Centre, on 64bit windows this is a native 64bit app, meaning it can't use ANY 32bit codecs and filters (xvid, corecodec, haali).

    And software support, ask Intuit if their latest software in the Quicken line of accounting and retail software will run in 64bit windows.

    A step further, fork out for some hosting, pay 20yrs in advance, set up a web page that has a "enter the password here" kinda thing, then put the password on a piece of acid free paper with the URL (don't forget to buy a domain).

    But if thats too much effort, you could, i dunno, write something on paper, sticks some photos in it, and maybe some memorabilia.

    They even make these handy devices which can be used to hold quarters and fit in your car's cup holders, or stick themselves to something on the dashboard to the right of the driver, or....

    In Australia, we call those "ash trays", most cars come fitted with them, they are damn handy for holding your spare coins for meters.

    Dunno why they call them ash trays though.... :P

    And yet I use a glass mouse pad on my wooden desk quite well with any laser or optical mice :)

    Check out the Rantopad range, smoked glass pads that look cool and weigh enough that they will never slip off the desk.

    I think a better summery stat would have been that "of the top 3 browsers, over 70% of malware writers steer clear of IE".

    Also, anyone wonder if the remaining 28% or so of IE users are using it just to test their exploits?

    A good tip is, if there is burning melted iron pouring out the top of the hole you make, the drive ain't recoverable ;)

    Wouldn't need a pit, just a good solid terracotta pot :)

    Your aim is not to melt the whole drive, just punch a hole in the top of the drive casing, pour in a small amount of thermite and a small burning wick.

    As pointed out, you don't need to melt the thing, just cook the platters to 1,000C or so to make the iron non-magnetic.

    Which would be the better solution.

    A small terracotta pot without a hole in the bottom of it + a small amount of thermite is the cheapest way, thermite is cheap and reasonably easy to make.

    Nothing says "no data recovery" like a drive reduced to its elemental components.

    You say that like they couldn't spawn those while the servers are online, collision shouldn't be a problem, ships would just bounce off the spawning 'roids.

    Why exactly do they need to bring them offline (your right, they likely don't "restart the hardware" more likely the client database access is shut off and the cleanup is run). Why can't they have the servers clean themselves while running?

    Other MMO are able to run servers for weeks to months without a restart. Admittedly other MMO don't have that many people on one shard.

    In the end, they can make all the excuses they want, if they bring the servers down in a countries prime time (not talking mid day or some shit, this is around 10pm) every night, there will be bitching :)

    Yup, pretty much they made a system better than ISK farmers could do. They win the fight :)

    Unfortunately they still bring their servers down in the middle of aussie prime time every night, so won't be collecting my money.

    In these cases your not so much selling the information/code, your selling your time and distribution costs. (not refering to TFA but to this thread)

    Where I work (computer sales/repair shop) we frequently get requests for latest hardware drivers, unix distros, etc, and we charge $5AU for that, merely to cover the cost of the disk and our time to burn it, and make sure that the customer knows thats what the money is for.
