    THe iphone was absolutely obvious and deriviative. The problem is all the phones that came before didnt have the full ecosystem to back it up. The iphone by itself is a an ok phone for the most part. its the software and ecosystem behind it that really drives the device. And Apple benefited greatly from seeing others mistakes and missteps too. The street goes both ways.

    There is speculation they are using a modified HD-DVD format. Which would make ALOT of sense and significantly reduce costs for the huge gain in capacity. Personally i think discs are almost anachronistic now, but apparently we arent quite there yet.

    Off topic, but i really hate that Descent is still in the hands of Interplay. They are holding on to it until they go through another bankruptcy and then they'll sell an IP, beg for more financing for a new game and then promptly burn through the cash from the IP sale and go bankrupt again.     Seriously? if you want to share in the profit of a publicly traded company then become a shareholder. Employees are due nothing more then their normal compensation. I would be insulted if my employees had the nerve to insinuate that their pay had any correlation to my profit margin.
