    Yes yes, i knew some troll was going to go there. The CONTEXT of what we were saying was that if the entire world jumped up the EQUIVALENT of +30 IQ, it would be a significant change all around. Global intelligence would increase dramatically regardless of the metric used. Thank you for wasting all of our time on the obvious but unstated.

    Intelligence is not defined by averages. If everyone on the planet gained +30 IQ/brainpower/etc it would be a tremendous move forward for humanity on almost every level. Being able to deduce and think logically has nothing to do with average.

    IANAL but the judge only has jurisdiction in the states. Its not contempt if he enjoins out of the jurisdiction. We do have some funny laws about pedos going overseas to have sex with the underaged, but even those laws are 'intent' laws and they dont get charged with the actual acts but with "Traveling overseas to do naughty things"

    I was asked to sign a non-compete for a LAWN SPRINKLER INSTALLATION COMPANY as a job foreman. I refused and they relented. I actually laughed in their faces. This was for a $14/hour job.

    Terrible analogy. When you are leasing a car what you are really paying for is the depreciation value of that car for the length of the lease. If you add more measurable wear and tear on the car (mileage) the value drops so you end up paying more to make up for it. Not the same thing at all.

    the 2 in TF2 is more 2.0 then straight sequel. Its a modernized version of the classic. Starcraft II is basically the same thing. Taking the free to play model from MMOs and dropping it into an already established ( and retail) FPS is taking a chance I'd say. Please enlighten me on other BIG houses that have taken serious risks with their established properties.

    Article is right, this is a joke. The ONLY truly useful features are the voice pause/play/stop etc. WHY cant they make a better interface to search/instant que etc? All this vast UI knowledge and a HUGE advantage over Sony and they squander it on this neutered piece of crap. I honestly feel like they pushed this out the door as fast as possible and put very little thought on how to make it a transformative UI experience. By now i should be able to control the entirety of the Xbox menu system with the Kinect. This should be priority #1 for them. 15 million units in the wild at $150 a pop. What a wonderful opportunity utterly wasted.

    I mentioned this above, i wouldnt be surprised to see HL3 as a Playstation 4 launch title (given the Steam treatment coming to PS3 with Portal 2). To Valve HL3 is a huge poker chip and they are waiting on the right time to cash it in.

    The difference is Valve is swimming in Scrooge McDuck size pools of money. THe long and short of Ep3 is they dont HAVE to make it any time soon and they know it. They are going to stretch out that nugget for all its worth. I wouldnt be surprised if its a Playstation 4 launch title. ( if you havent heard, Portal 2 on PS3 gets the full Steamworks treatment incl. same day updates and free PC/Mac copy in your Steam account)

    Overrated is not the right word to use when you personally dont like something. TF2 is an outstanding example of a dev house thinking out of the box and taking chances. That game is making more money NOW then it ever did in box sales. While it may not be your cup of tea, Valve is a shining light in a sea of wannabes and has beens. There really no other dev house that compares to Valve.

    L4D2 was built upon L4D which was born from years of Valve AI bot research, HL2 was not built upon HL1.

    My somewhat younger wife does not understand my refusal to fly anymore. She doesnt get that the TSA is just WRONG to those of us who grew up during (and were aware of) the Cold War. I will not be groped and X-rayed just so i can TRAVEL.

    Scotty was 'resurrected' in a way that was totally plausible for the character. It worked, and technically he never died. Spock's resurrection was much less plausible

    Now can you see why people are disappointed? He talked ALOT of smack and then backed out. I think he is due some deserved criticism. What concerns me most is that the MAJORITY of this discussion is about the donation money and not about the true issues of the matter.
