Apple holds no monopolies of any kind, and are not anywhere NEAR the penetration Microsoft accomplished. There is a RAGING WAR going on in the handset space, so its impossible to call monopoly there. Itunes has many competitors, as does Macintosh, ipod, etc and so forth. Apple has absolutely ZERO monopolies. Your analogy does not hold water.

  10. Re:Not again. on ACLU Says Net Neutrality Necessary For Free Speech · · Score: 1

When you are a government granted monopoly, your options as a company should be rightfully limited. Verizon operates on our good graces by the PEOPLE allowing them to use the airwaves to deliver their product. The radio spectrum is wholly owned by THE PEOPLE, leased to corporations to provide beneficial service to the PEOPLE. IM not saying it should be a free for all, but the idea that the ISPs can run their networks however they see fit is absurd and ignores the reality that we OWN the road they use to sell us stuff, be it airwaves, or governmental right of way.

We need to reclassify internet access in the same vein as streets, sewers etc. Necessary parts of a modern functioning society. We need to limit the cries of socialism and make wiring our country a priority just like we did with public sewer works and later highways. Internet access or at the very least internet access conduits should be a civil engineered project from here on out. Let the ISPs lease conduit space from the city.

To make .999..=1, the universe would have to be infinitely precise.

Entrapment laws were setup to keep the police in line, so when no governmental abuse is found, entrapment is usually waived. The only way to really get an entrapment defense to work is if the police were extraordinarily out of line. I do know that some east coast Police Departments were doing naughty things like putting a wallet on the sidewalk and then arresting anyone who picked it up, even though the law states you have up to 24 hours to turn it in. Its this kind of stuff that entrapment laws are intended to stop.
