Its not that they werent FILMED in HD, its that they werent transferred in HD. Go check out some of the old Law and Orders that run on TNT HD. They have been remastered and formatted for HD from the original films. They look fantastic for how old the episodes are.
Guitar Hero is generally shipped as a complete game. Many would agree that L4d shipped in a completely 'final beta' type state. It was both implied and indicated that L4D would be getting the continuous update treatment same as TF2. We now know that is not entirely going to be the case and that to continue to play L4D in any meaningful way, we are going to have to shell out for ANOTHER full retail box.
L4D steam owners should at least get a SUBSTANTIAL discount on L4D2, fuck the stupid Xbox owners.
Theyve earned mine with over a decade of very high quality service. Ive arguable gotten more play value from their line of products then pretty much any other form of entertainment. I played CS for YEARS. I will say i was as shocked as alot of other people when they announced L4D2, but I have a feeling it will work out to our mutual benefit in the end. Valve has earned the benefit of the doubt. If anyone should be looked at askance its Blizzard. They are REALLY starting to overmilk the WoW cow. Steins, custom figurines, CCG, miniatures, ads on the forums, motorcycles and guitar axes ( im sorry, but the sound of both of those items would pull me right out of immersion.)
I certainly can appreciate the pure business mindset, but I can never understand it. As a technologist, it is unnatural for me to try and create high barriers for entry to anything. A bit irrelevant to the topic at hand, but your statement made me remember that i will always be a terrible businessman.
Anyways, Apple has a nice market penetration and mindshare, but the market is far too diverse and the competition way too strong for them to be complacent in any way. The iphone's absolute #1 advantage is the ability to use the web better then any other phone EVER. Not only that, the handset makers made it REALLY easy for apple to dominate with a well made product because they cripple the hardware far beyond what is necessary and offer NOTHING to address that lost functionality other then extremely overpriced ephemera.
Disclaimer: I do NOT own an Iphone, ive been waiting for the competition to catch up, so far im still not impressed) I have a HTC 6700 from verizon, its shaped like a brick, I couldnt even get acrobat reader to work on it. Browsing the web or just plain trying to use the device beyond reading pure text email and making calls is an exercise in frustration. Not to mention the OS takes up about 95% of the onboard memory so Im limited to very few apps. In a word, SUCK!

THere is an adapter made by MS that allows HDMI with optical(or RCA jack Stereo) output. Full Dolby Digital through optical. In this configuration i get full HDCP link DVD upscaling. PS3 same thing. HDMI out straight to TV, optical to a receiver. I get Dolby Digital, DTS, the works.

And all Apple has proven is that a subset of people who already had a device will purchase CHEAP games for it. The iphone is not a game console, its a phone that can play some genres of relatively simplistic games.

Best of both worlds is relative: PSP Go is significantly smaller, better screen, no moving parts (other then the slide) and has bluetooth connectivity.
PSP GO has an analog thumbstick..... It might not be the best, but its there. And yes I totally agree that no dual thumbsticks is dumb as hell in a redesign of this magnitude.
You buy a PSP 3000 then. It says right in the article that they will still sell PSP-3000s side by side with the PSP GO. This is a smart stop gap move by Sony. A UMD docking station is almost absolutely out of the question. Besides, IF they were to do that, they would force you to use a PS3 connected to your PSP.
USB capture cards are not great compared to PCI/PCI-e tuners and selection is quite limited AND generally costs more per tuner. Also, most USB stick tuners arent hardware encoders which can use a not insignificant amount of CPU.

And neither are upgradeable, so in 3 years when i wanna play Crysis 4, im forced to buy a new mac.

THe Imac is not the gap filler in any way shape or form. It is the 'anti-gap filler' for the people that want a mid tower mac the most.
