Especially when talking about mass murder. Yes, it takes a rather fucked up person to open fire on random people, much less children. But the fact that a (supposedly) "well-adjusted individual" can make a career out of the collateral death of orders of magnitudee more people, and most people don't even fucking blink, makes the notion of "normal society" kind of ridiculous. This kind of lunacy is a steady and ever-present killer... you can steal the life of people by leading them in circles or down dead ends no problem, that's a-okay. But when some psycho does that on a much smaller scale, we're kind of relieved because we have someone we can feel morally superior to. Which kind of makes me sick.

The things that are leading to pollution of such extents (selfishness and greed, ultimately), would fuck us over, and corner us like this stuff will (and by "us" I don't mean all humans, if you think all men are created equal under current circumstances you're a fucking lunatic), even if they didn't also result in pollution. So why not adapt by, you know, cutting the crap? I know that's mighty easy to say, but still, if we're not at least THINKING, much less TALKING about actual causes, wtf can we hope to achieve?
Also, this is about more than water levels rising. FFS! You upset the eco system you live in, you're sawing off the branch you're sitting on. Yes, stuff changes, and life adapts. That's a given. But so is that people are greedy because and then die with a shirt that has no pockets. At best they gain nothing, at worst they go to hell. So yeah, let's adapt. There is a playful, complimenting way, and an aggressive, bitter one. I dare say if it's genuine and happens in a reverent and respectful way, EVERYBODY likes it. But some (men and women) will so often try to flirt with others because *they* find *them* sexy -- not because it's mutual -- and do so in an aggressive, needy way. Combine that with an imbalance of power, physical or otherwise, and you have the recipe for fucked up BS.
So yes, all other factors being equal, what is crossing the line is the same for men and women and little furry creatures from alpha centauri. But all other factors are rarely equal. So it's a TOTALLY FUCKED UP argument to say "but guys don't mind"... of course they don't, duh, that's kind of the point!
