My school forced us to buy an acer through them "at cost" as part of becoming freshmen. Mine crashes about once a trimester. I've had to send it back to acer twice, and each time it comes back with a new problem and a half-assed repair job. The only reason I haven't thrown it off the bridge wing of my ship is because it is illegal to dump plastic overboard. The fish deserve better... THINK OF THE FISH!

Actually, I do like the taste of cop dick. I don't want to throw personal experience on you or anything like that...but maybe you should try it before you knock it. It should also be noted that I'm not trying to protect anybody. What happened at Kent was clearly wrong. If given a blatantly illegal command [ie... kill unarmed civilians] there is no protection under any law for someone who obeys it. The WW2 Nazi trials back this up. I was just stating that the phrase was not right for the command.

It is my understanding that this audio was only recently "discovered." I can assure you during my military service I NEVER received an order to fire my weapon like that. Maybe "Ready, Aim, Fire" or "Contact [direction], Fire" ...never something like "Get Set! Point! Fire!" They just aren't ligitimate weapons commands. It sounds to me like some agitator wanted to add it and just messed it all up. He may be able to fool someone who has never been on a weapons range, but not anyone who has actually put rounds downrange.

Roger that. When I was with the Marines (the Men's Department of the Navy) they had us doing all kinds of stuff with MS apps. None of the programs "talked" to the programs used by other shops. There were all kinds of bugs in the apps, so much to the point that much of the work had to be done with pencil and paper to ensure it was right. It reduced unit readiness and put more risk into every operation. When we requested better programs, well...you know how it goes. Maybe if the military put people with a background in IT in the billets there would be fewer problems. Until then, they will run whatever crap looks best on paper.
