    What a load of crap.

Consoles will be the target platform for the development of blockbuster games as long as there is an audience for them. I love the PC as a gaming platform, but blockbusting developers care primarily about one thing, sales. You have this huge installed base of 360s and PS3s, and the people who buy games are playing on these consoles. Also consider that in our economy, the people who want to play new game "x" are not going to be able to go buy the new hardware required to play new game "x" on the PC.

As well, once there is a big enough jump to make in graphics (or features, looking at the Wii), that can be made at a reasonable price point (one would think Sony would have learned that lesson with the PS3), Microsoft and Sony will release new updated consoles that will compete with/overtake the abilities of the *common* gaming PC. The process repeats, as it has many times before. The PC ends up being the testing grounds for technologies that are later integrated into the consoles. Remember when you could only get a good multiplayer experience on the PC?

Take it from a professional photographer, 90% of the time, the angle and lighting are all that matter between a good and a bad photo.

Glad someone posted this. As a Novice who takes many many bad pictures and a few good ones, lighting and composition (often the angle) are the essentials. There are many things you can fix in photoshop or lightroom, but bad lighting and the angle that highlights that all your worst features are not among them.

Instead of a new camera, buy a book that teaches you how to use light, and another book that teaches you about composition, then spend the remainder on a copy of Lightroom. If you know how to use google or yahoo or bing, you can even skip the books, and try the strobist blog and some of the tutorials for composition available on istockphoto.com. Once you understand these things, then if you must buy a new camera, you'll have a better idea what to look for in a camera, and a "beautifying button" won't be among them.

It looked very similar to alot of the features you see on websites today, although a lot more basic. It was written in Java and as Java was back then, the app was buggy as hell. I was quite good at my job, I could break the app at any moment and when the opportunity arose, I received the lead programmer's blessing to transfer to the graphic department. He was glad to be rid of me. The point of this story is that Java was in use, or at least development (not sure if that project ever saw the light of day) 14 years ago, and they had been working on that project for a time before I ever got there.

I once made my fundamentalist christian boss at an old job pratically swallow his tongue because I almost forced him to understand evolution. Along with loving Jesus, he was a super gear-head. So I broke Evolution down into car terms (very basic terms since I'm NOT a gearhead). First I asked why we don't drive Model-T Fords anymore? Because someone added pedals to the next car. The car people bought after that had a hardtop roof or windshield wipers. Then some came out with larger engines, those cars survived longer in the marketplace because they were a better fit to what people wanted from their money. Some cars had innovations that didn't work, and they died off (Edsel, et al). And now we have lamborghini's and Bentleys and Chevys and Fords of all different makes and models, with GPS and remote start, and some will do better than others, and continue to be developed. Others will be too expensive, or too fuel hungry, or too feature-poor, and those won't sell as well, and over time, those models will disappear. Effectively the slow progression the car industry makes in response to market forces is analogous to the evolution of life in response to changing environmental pressure.

Just wait until someone turns that analogy on it's head, as the vehicles you are referencing were designed by an intelligent being (or group thereof).
