  17. What it'll take to get linux main stream on 2009, Year of the Linux Delusion · · Score: 1

Its going to take the removal of any command line usage for mass adoption to do things like install software and setup drivers. I still have no idea what the commands mean or do, when i need to get something done, i search and find it on a forum somewhere some random letters and slashes and magically things work. As much as die hard linux users love the command line. Average people want a gui to set up things that does nothing but works. Once linux gets there, it'll stomp MS. Till then, it'll be only for hard core linux heads and those that have a hard core linux head on constant stand by to fix things.

  18. Why have time zones at all? on Alternatives to Daylight Saving Time? · · Score: 1

Why not have everyone on UTC? If you in New York Open your store 0900 in the morning, why can't you just open the west coast store at 1200 in the morning in LA? Just becaue we are use to having things open 9 - 5 in a local time zone there is no reason why that hours can't shift? It'll probably happen after the US switches to metric, but thats my dream.

Well with series 2 and tivo 2 go you can offload videos to your computer and back and forth with things like galleon.tv. Hopefully they keep this kind of functionality with series 3 lite. Another question I have, is why didn't they come out with this version first? Why go with a box that is garenteeed to have limited user base. If they came out with the 3 lite version first, I would have been an early adopter. Sometimes TiVo's decisions blow my mind. (as in tivo desktop 2.4 doesn't work with Vista, but if you install 2.3 it works just fine???)

The comment "For someone to be able to surreptitiously read a card, they'd have to get within two or three inches and get into the same plane as the card," by Kathleen Carroll, a spokeswoman for HID's Government Relations. Thats not hard to do at all in the federal world. Ride the metro around 7:30 on a weekday and almost every person on it has a proximity badge around their neck or on the belt along with their ID badge. Its like showing the world your cool that you work at the agriculture department or something. But I've seen everything from State Department badges, treasury, and justice department badges on full display on super crowded metro trains.

I've moved around a bunch and I have found that the cable company you don't have is always better then the one you do have. I have time warner but would love comcast. I would love just to watch fox once in a while. http://www.timewarnercable.com/northwest/moscowkay u.html I agree, choice would be great. When I lived in Northern Virginia, choices were there, Cox Cable or Verizon FIOS, both offered, phone/cable/internet. Service was vastly improved with just two competing companies. I think if all areas had three companies competing, prices would be drastically lower and customer service would have to improve, since it would be so easy to jump ship.
