That means that with your account, you can no longer play on VAC-secured servers on any game
Not true. You get banned for the single game and any other games that rely on the game engine. For example, I have two Steam accounts. Both have Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike : Source. One has been VAC banned for CS 1.6. Because of this, every 1.6 engine game is also VAC banned (Half Life, Team Fortress, The Specialist). On the second account, I have CS:S VAC banned. I can't play Garry's Mod, TF2, or any other Source engine game online on that account.
You must not do much gaming online with a regular set of people. Using a voice service out side of the game provides a unified interface to communicate with. It's not being a 'tard' at all, especially since the quality of in-game voice chat is usually sub-par. Counter-Strike is especially guilty of this. Also, in some games (such as Counter-Strike), you can't communicate with your still living team mates if you are dead.
In short, you are completely missing the point. The whole point was that Windows 2000 is missing a feature that many gamers need, and therefore does not qualify as a good enough OS for people who need this feature.
Intel may have reached THEIR apex, but its certainly not the apex for every processor. IBM's Power6 processors run upwards of 5GHz.
Honestly, I don't see the big deal with using model numbers. I would rather model numbers be used than clockspeeds again. Do you remember the confusion when people overclocked their x.xGHz P4 to a higher clock speed and it was difficult to tell which model was meant? I'm also tired of people thinking older processors with higher clock speed are SO much faster than modern processors with lower clock speed. The woman at work who orders our corporate computers STILL buys Pentium 4/D's at 3GHz because they are 'faster' than a 2.6GHz Core 2 Duo.
It's really simple. If you don't know what the model means, look up it on Intel's Ark website.
Windows 2000 has one huge flaw for gaming : multiple applications using microphone input. Windows 2000 does not allow it. That issue makes Windows 2000 pretty much useless if you want to use Ventrilo/TeamSpeak, as most games these days have their own voice communication built in.
Please notice the definition "at any time" and "at all". At any time means past, present and future. Does the word "ever" always mean this definition by default? No, but context clues were not provided for any other definition.
The only reason that "I wondered if he'd ever seen a computer before" is past-tense in meaning is because you used the word "had", which means past-tense. Because no other word was used to imply time frame, its a valid assumption that the poster meant past, present and future.
The first game didn't seem all that scary to me. All they did was neglect the lighting, add in some phantom appearances, and played some voices really low. I found the combat to be boring. The entire game could be beat with a simple "Run in, switch to slow motion, kill everyone, move on" method. I never played FEAR 2, but I hope FEAR 3 is nothing like the original.
I own the SRM and its a GREAT sound card. I have the AK-R8, which came with the SRM. These products have only recently went discontinued, so it should be easy to find..I wish you luck!
It doesn't really seem like a fair comparison to me. Microsoft doesn't make phones, they make software. This isn't really news at all, just more "We found a trend at Microsoft, lets post a news article about it!" crud. Call me when Microsoft makes a phone that most Microsoft employees refuse to use, then I might consider it newsworthy.
Conjugal visits? Mmmm. Not that I know of. Y'know, minimum-security prison is no picnic. I have a client in there right now. He says the trick is: kick someone's ass the first day, or become someone's bitch. Then everything will be all right. W-Why do you ask, anyway?
I, for one, am glad Intel went away from modeling their processors after their clockspeed. They went to an actual model for this reason. If you want an example where they didn't, and lower clock speed processors kept up just go back and look at the 423/427 Pentium 4's vs the Socket A Athlons (XP, ect)
Wow! I didn't know Windows 7 had support for Intel's 8086 processor until I read this article!
To be more specific: Windows 7 requires 1GB of RAM for the 32-bit version and 2GB for the 64-bit version. The 16-bit version requires 16GB of hard disk space, while the 32-bit version needs 20GB.
I hope I can find 16GB of storage somewhere, because here I come Windows 7!
PS: This article seemed more like an attempt to get slashdotted than a legitimate study. The comparison of names was unneeded and marking down Windows for needing to install a single device driver is just plain silly. If I installed any OS and only had to go to Nvidia website and install a single driver to have a fully functional computer, I'd be extremely happy!
It's the same glitch found in some brands of condoms. Hear that sweetie? I admit to putting the condom on with another woman, and while it appears that we used it for sex, it's just a minor glitch! Honest!

The "online storage, online music and videos" places will certainly need it. Also, what if you aren't connected to the Internet to access such things?

I didn't just make it up, actually. Here, I'll save you the trouble of Googling for the definition of ever yourself.

The word 'ever' implies past, present and future. Unless video cards cease to be made, this will not be the fastest video card ever made.
The fastest video card ever made? Is this the last video card ever made or something? I think maybe you meant the fastest video card to date.
The Palms has very nice looking waitresses too!
There's one in the eye for all the haters on this story who just took the random guy off the internet's word for it that Apple was right.

iPhones. The last time I was in China (November), the elite rich had iPhones, and everyone was trying trying to sell iPhone knock-offs.

My browser must see in to the future then..

Not really. Every end user is supposed to get a /64. You could just block their /64 and accomplish pretty much the same thing.
Interesting. LCDs and freedom must be made from the same materials...

Even the cheapest $300 computers on dell.com don't have one processor.
Actually, they do. Dual core != Dual processor.
From what I hear, the cake is a lie..
Just warning ya!
looks like we've almost reached that point now. We've had Xeon 3.0GHz cpus for over 5 years now, and they're still coming out with brand new 3ghz processors. That's a long time to not see a jump in speed, what happened to "doubling every 18 months"? We should be around 24ghz by now.
Sorry, Performance != Clockspeed

I assume you know that the web was invented by an Englishman in Switzerland.
I didn't know Al Gore ever lived in Switzerland...
