  5. Not all religions on Johns Hopkins Bows To USAID Censorship Push · · Score: 1

Not all religions recognize the difference between socially sanctioned killing and murder. Some groups have dissent within the group as to the nature of their doctrines, for example Buddhists must abstain from the "destruction of life", not merely murder. This is also extended, by many sects, groups, ecclesia [sp?] within Buddhism to include all animal life. Jains never take life, human or animal. Many esoteric/gnostic/mystic groups also abhor the practice.

It is getting harder and harder to find standard built pcs with ps/2; however, I always make sure I get one. No mushy rubber dome with fading sticky keys and too many buttons can ever replace my mid 80's model m space saver.

And in regards to the above comment about USB not caring what you plug into it, many ps/2 to usb adaptors simply don't work. USB can be especially picky with some hardware requiring an actual ps/2 to usb signal converter, which, funny enough, usually look exactly the same as the non-working adapters.

During a speech he once gave, someone in the audience asked Arthur C. Clarke when the space elevator would become a reality.

"Clarke answered, 'Probably about 50 years after everybody quits laughing,'" related Pearson. "He's got a point. Once you stop dismissing something as unattainable, then you start working on its development. This is exciting!"

Yes I've read many westerns, and I agree with these sentiments; they were uttered by Arther C. Clarke himself...so if you can't stand my pathetic nod to the tired liberal talking point about "Cowboy Diplomacy", then you are wasting your time reading about the magnificent life and oeuvre of Clarke.

Plus I'd rather be counted among the spineless appeasement mongers, among whom you in your ignorance have included Clarke in what should be his tribute...

You can keep the Louis L'Amours...I enjoyed reading him when I was 12; Clarke's work, though, is like the phoenix.
