Since the station was a media partner of YouTube, the service assumed that the news report was the original and automatically interrupted NASAs live stream during the landing.
Probably gives the police additional investigatory powers since they're now supect of being a terrorist organisation. It's not stupid, it's unabashedly abusive.
At one point, Visa tried to prevent German shops from selling Cuban cigars. I guess these transactions were high risk as well and Visa did not try to police the world according to US political views.
... and over-the-air update can also break it. Or take away the "feature" once the car leaves the showroom.
And why would anyone in Tesla do that?
Because Tesla gets sued for patent infringement over a feature and removing it is part of the settlement or does otherwise reduce costs. We've had these things happen with consumer electronics. Why not cars?

Ads pay so little that many websites would make more money with a $5.99 per year subscription. Maybe they should try that instead of trying to charge $10 or $20 per month.
The voting records are uploaded to a central server using FTP. All clients use the same credentials, which are hidden in the software. Once you extracted the credentials, you can change the records of current and past elections at will.
The update process is completely unsecured as well. However, the current problems are not a real issue since the software will receive an online updare that fixes the discovered vulnerabilities before the upcoming election.
Web browsers provide the one device independent platform we have. If we can get it to support more use cases without compromising security, I'm all for it.

It would be nice if, with the improved controls, they would allow to publish nude content instead of forcing US prudery on the rest of the world.
