    I agree. Don't fuck around with situations like this. Losing a loved one can be very painful for some people and to have shit like this going on only makes it worse. Unfortunately, the way the justice system works, nothing will probably happen besides a couple of news articles.

    We are fighting sand people for christ sake! Why not just use a pocket calculator for all our computing needs? That's far more powerful than anything they have.

    I don't meant to be offensive, but we really do overpower them by so much we really don't need to be spending a crap-ton of money to overpower them even more. I'm sure there's something here about diminishing returns.

    Problem is, I see it changing. As taxes go up and our freedoms go down, companies are going to be moving out. The only thing keeping us in the lead is the fact that other countries are also getting worse.

    projects underway. For a while there it seemed like everything under NASA was getting shut down while still in the design stage. I understand there's still a long way to go before we can start visiting space again, but hopefully we'll get there sooner than later and with a cheaper vehicle.

    I wonder how specific these patents are and how similar the Apple products are to them. Did they patent transmitting TCP/IP over wireless on a phone (something obvious), or do they have their own proprietary protocol (less obvious)?

    I have a feeling there might be a lot of obscurity involved in this case.

    or casual users this is too far in the other direction, the likelihood of getting bored to death when all you can do is start a character and level them to 20 is pretty high. Why not just dust off Elder Scrolls?

    The idea is to get the player hooked so he or she will buy the game to advance the character.

    It seems like every time I look at my computer something else is asking to be updated. Flash, Java, Adobe, Firefox, Windows itself, etc. Can we just knock it off already and update once every 6 months or so? That would be nice.

    Also, get off my lawn.

    Google seems to be just like any other corporation these days. They do some good stuff, and they do some questionable stuff. I do like what they are trying to do with ads though.

    This process could possibly be used to help start manufacturing on other words, with Mars being mostly sand

    This was my thought when I firs saw it. I've always wondered if something like this was possible to do on mars, or the moon. Looks like it might be.

    Now that you mention it, I've always considered base-2 or 16 to be rather useful for dealing with computers. As long as we're rearranging things, let's pick a base and put everything in it. I say 16. We can learn to count on our non-thumb knuckles and toes. We'll be a race of super geniuses, etc.

    As long as we're redoing time I say we convert it to the metric system. This was hard to do before because we kept trying to keep time in line with the rotation/orbit of the earth. But if all that's going out the window, let's just divide everything up into units of 10 and be done with it.

    I say, to really mess with people, they should swap around their version numbers. So the first number is for minor update and the middle number is for major updates (but this number should go down instead of us). So, if you're at 1.4.0 and a small bug fix comes in, it'll be 2.4.0. Then a major release you're at 2.3.0.

    Surely this is a great way to avoid any confusion.
