As for TFA, MySpace and trendy phones don't educate people, they just help to usher in a generation of hopeless mediawhores. Before we start giving kids free reign in the class, how about we focus on making being a teacher look like a good career? A cellphone won't get people interested in school, but people actually interested in their jobs will.

Also, the idea of 'accidentally intentionally' doing something does make sense when you realize that one of the things keeping us from doing whatever we feel like (besides fear of retaliation) is the effort required to do so. In short, the weight of your body holds you back to some extent.
If you have an arm that can move with no conscious effort on your part (save for the initiating thought) and moves under its own power, I could definitely see people making a few extra movements every now and then (though nothing as complex as pulling out a gun, taking off the safety, aiming and firing. More like punching and other simple movements.)

Why are you tossing out your contact information to people like that? You can always delete disruptive blog comments or even block posts from specific IP addresses, you can change your email address, and all that stuff, and the last two examples are easily rectified by simply denying you ever said anything.
Do you regularly give your phone number out to strange people? Your email address? This is just more 'because internet' legislation made up so people can feel good about themselves.

Because it's an internet pissing contest for ad revenue. You don't have to produce anything as long as you can make your site popular and make the corporate monkeys think that people actually click on ads.
It really looks like another bubble, but I can't help but wonder how long this could go on. After all, most of the people throwing the money around are already rooted deeply into the ground and wouldn't suffer too much if their investments went bust.

Google has been branching out into damn near everything for quite a while now; it was only a matter of time before they started trying to sell goods instead of services. Also, who says they can't tie it in with their services? Gmail, Google Video (and YouTube), Froogle, etc. Looking at how much space they set aside for Gmail accounts, I could see them setting up an online storage service for GPhone users (just 500MB would be plenty).

Uploading content to YouTube is different than setting up a website and hosting the content yourself through an ISP/hosting company.
How so? Because you don't have to take care of page design? It was my understanding that YouTube is, in fact, a hosting company (and thus an Internet Service Provider*), in that they host videos and blocks of descriptive text. How is this different from registering on , setting up a Flash video player, and doing the exact same thing? Is it just that YouTube doesn't explicitly state that it acts as a content host?

*I'm working on the assumption that an ISP doesn't have to provide a person with a connection to the Internet, just that it has to provide bandwidth for content.
