I second pfsense. It will do what you need. As your load requirements go up, just beef up your hardware and restore the backup config from the older box. It works great and you can get support from the dev team. Your costs for support (if you want/need it) will be significantly lower as you're not paying for all the middle management like you would going with cisco.
If you don't want/need technical support, the software is free and the forum is pretty good about timely responses.
I stopped using hosting providers 10 years ago. There's no f*cking way, I'll ever do that again. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE for physical access to your own machine.
Release it. It's not malware in the way that windows malware gets spread. My Linux and FreeBSD boxes ARE more secure than your windows boxes.
If it can't be installed without user interaction, it's useless here on/.
Me thinks it's a hoax and flamebait.
Most RBLs block single IP addresses. Not easy to hide with one IP.
Once the sender is blocked because their outsourced email provider is letting the zombies through, they need to be informed and get pissed at their provider - not the one who blocked it. The dimwit CEO just needs to be informed of his ignorant decision to use smartemailforeveryoneontheplanet.com for $2.99 a month. Problem solved!
...When Oracle buys a company, they keep that company's staff to keep on working on whatever product they acquire. They dont shove that down the hall to whatever commando team....
Let's set them up with a special section called Patent Office Ask Slashdot Submissions (POASS).
Funny acronym aside - it might be a good idea.
We on slashdot seem to know more about prior art than the USPO or the lawyers submitting the patent requests.
Let the acronym race begin...
Agreed! I have XP and Vista stickers on most of the trashcans in the building. It's amazing how long it takes some end users to see it and even more amazing how long it takes for them to "get it". I'll start putting them on the toilets next.
What's with people calling groups of others cancer?
The MS mantra for awhile was "Linux is a cancer..."
Personally I have a strong - almost extreme dislike of the disease called microsoft.
So what are we going to [label] call the group of cancers who dislike a cancer?
A cure?
I would love to however, it appears that only people running MS has mod points these days. I spoke unkindly of MS and my karma turned to "bad" AND I haven't seen mod points in three months. Only the shills are being able to use slashdot effectively it seems. That's just my opinion, however I could be wrong.
Where is it manufactured? How long before it ships with the "goodies" (root kits) that seem to w0rm their way in direct from the factory?
I just love it when something for "enterprise and governments" is made in China.
I know two of them.
Nice enough persons, however just because they can write RPG and queries on a green screen somehow got translated to the title of Director of IT.
Really though, their heads are up their ass when it comes to anything IT.

I hate it when someone guesses my password.
Blow it up.

And all this time I thought it was cockroaches that was the most resilient.

Get a trillion dollars...
I wonder what the CEO will say when I cut him off on the next (4th) incident.

So actually the best thing that can happen to society is a bad Vista7 experience.
Affirmative.
You need to show them what the BSA can do. I'd rather have a surprise inspection of source code over a surprise subpoena or surprise lawsuit.
