ICBMs only make jet fighters obsolete until ICBMs are obsolete themselves. If ICBMs don't work, and we control the skies, suddenly (enemy)'s options are much more limited (mostly to submarines).

Fork it into one game with a focus on mainstream music and one with a technical focus. I understand the camp that just wants fun songs that people recognize- they're great for casual play and parties. I'm in the camp that plays games for the challenge and I listen to music that tends to be more technical (Dream Theater). If not for the game, Guitar Hero would mean to me the G3 tour- Buckethead and Eric Johnson are the only GH songs I've played that are from G3 guitarists. I get that focusing on the technical/metal (not nu metal) music won't go over well with many, but that doesn't mean there aren't lots of GH/RB fans who want to see more of those songs. Understand you might think the technical stuff is boring, but many people find the simple stuff boring. I get it, people are different, it just sucks to be the minority that gets ignored, hence GP's post.

I was at Fermilab yesterday and a video they showed claimed they ARE working with energies never before seen on Earth, as they are smashing antiprotons into protons, both going near the speed of light. Yes, there are higher energy PARTICLES contained in cosmic rays. Perhaps the video, being old, doesn't account for some recent discovery of naturally-occuring antimatter, but otherwise I don't think anything in nature (around Earth) can reach the energy of two high-speed hadrons converting into energy- at least not on the same scale.

I am talking about what Fermilab is doing- perhaps LHC will not be using antimatter but not being familiar with quantum physics I do not know whether the Higgs particle can be formed without the annihilation of matter on the scale at the Tevatron.

    1/4 have Girl, Girl

As for the Mary thing, the best I understand is if you say the FIRST one is named Mary, since only two options have a girl first, making it 1/2 for having two girls. If I am missing something please correct me, but I honestly cannot see how you get 1/2 without specifying which child is Mary.

I think a consumer has a right to know about all safetey hazards. The obvious ones like toasters are hot or lawn mowers will eat your fingers I hope people get, although how hot the toaster gets would be nice to know. Everyone accepts some level of risk by getting in a car or using a gas stove, but you are aware of both the risks and benefits. Instead of letting a company decides when the risk is enough we should know about it, they should let the consumer decide what is acceptable by putting all the information out there. Sure, there will be some consumers that see one exploding iPod and run for their lives every time they see white earbuds, but it makes no sense to put the average consumer at unknown risk just to avoid spooking the dumb ones.

Apple could report all safety issues- including consumer idiocy. They have good marketing so they can push how they want to be up front about safety, letting people learn from others' mistakes to avoid further injuries, and the risks that are Apple's fault get watered down by their minority compared to stupid mistakes.

I'd caution people about getting Left4Dead at this point. I got it back in December and I've gotten my money's worth out of it, but the sequel is due out this holdiay season. If you can wait until January you should be able to catch L4D2 for 1/2 off (at least if they follow the pattern set by TF2 and L4D). Even so, if you have a group of friends to frequently play with you should get enough out of the game before the sequel is out.

As far as the game itself, the heart and soul of the game is the multiplayer versus. The campaigns are fun but especially with a group of friends versus is consistently something to look forward to. Sure, on paper L4D may not look to have a lot of replay with 6 guns, 5 special infected and 4 maps but it never gets boring to work with your zombie team to set up an ambush or to lead the survivors in a mad dash through the horde. The randomization through the "director" works great to keep script strategies from dominating, and I'm looking forward to how it evolves in the sequel.
