  1. Back in High School on Is This How to Carry Your Gadgets? · · Score: 1

Back in high school, one of my friends had a similar idea. He cut the bottom out of one of the inside pockets in a big coat he had. This gave him full access to the entire inside lining of the coat. He had everything in there, and you couldn't tell. He fit papers, books, food, weapons etc.

Finally, the expansion boards. There things sold for 5K and up initially, and will still go for that if you're paitent. Post a web page with all of the names and model numbers and a contact addy. Someone will search the net and hit your page and buy that board. I have sold video boards for 8K, comm and memory boards have gone for as high as 12K.

WHAT! HOLY SHIT! I've been breaking these things with baseball bats!!

Luckily for me, I'm a comptuer nerd going to a computer nerd school. I was looking to test a floppy cable, and I ran into a faculty member. I said what the heck, and asked him if he had a floppy cable. He says "here" and hands me an Apple 2CI. Of course there was nothing in there I could use, so I stripped it for collectible parts and use the case as a box :) The other day, a computer lab threw out around 30 old Apples, I grabbed an MAC LC because it looked kinda neat... this school can't help but to build on my collection of old hardware.

That is like here in America, a politician is requesting a ban on "The Sopranos" because they protray Italians as mobsters. On Larry King live she admitted she had never seen the show, and stuttered into saying she was boycotting it. Luckily Jon Stewart and the daily show concluded "She's a dumbass!" and that they were working on a new show where there were no negative stereotypes against anybody, and no problems or anything, called "The most boring show ever!"

Well there are plenty on ebay. Funny thing is, some of them are transfers of accounts, and require you to sign up for the ricochet network. Yippie :) Funnier thing is, they are selling for over $40 knowing they have to sign up for the network before they get shipped the product.

  7. Can't you return Windows for a refund? on Dell Drops Linux on Desktops and Laptops · · Score: 1

I was told yesterday that if you don't open the licencing agreement to the MS products and don't use the Windows install, you can send it back for a refund. Whether or not this is true (I assume it is since the agreements usually say "if you don't comply with the license, return it for a full refund") I suppose it will still be a huge hassle.

Although they're supposed to compete with Intel's Itanium chips, they only run at 900MHz ... for now.

Just becaue it runs "only" at 900mhz doesn't mean anything compared to an Itanium running at a higher clock speed. There are many more factures like pipelines, cache, and over all archetecture. A 900mhz sparc could beat an Itanium at a higher clock speed just like Athlons and PIIIs can beat P4s in certain benchmarks while running at lower clockspeeds. (not saying it will or will not, but you can't discount one processor based only on clock.)

At first this might seem like a good move, until you remember the only current selling point of the P4 is memory bandwidth (until SSE2 is mainstream). So effectively, the took the best feature and killed it to save on costs to the consumer. Too bad most consumers will see "1.8ghz now with 128 megs of SDRAM!" and buy it because they heard SDRAM is cheaper than RDRAM, yet the 1.8gig CPU is over $500.

It has gotten to the point where I can't say "you're" anymore because it sounds too much like when people misuse the spelling "your" so I say "you are" or "youer" to distinguish between the two.

I'm considering majoring in CS with a minor in robotics to bridge the gap.
