Hum, I hate to say this, but thems the rules.
if someone could get sick off of eating these undies (here come the raunchy jokes) then it's a valid concern.
Mod Parent up.
1) Joe Blow sees a cheap computer
2) Buys said computer.
3) Realises that he can't install msn messenger and SuperDupertexasholdem.exe on it.
4) Thinks that it's stupid and returns it.
If people educated themselves on these magic boxes, there would be no need for tech people.
See, You misunderstand. Microsoft and Sony have teamed up to create a new portable gaming device called XPSP2. This is just part of their viral advertising campaign designed to shock and confuse people! You fell right into it!
Couldn't you use another satellite to push it out of orbit? It would be destroyed in the process, but that's got to be safer and less expensive than a missile.... right?
I wish i could just yell "ENHANCE" at a photo on my computer to make it magically uncover detail that was never originally there. That would be awesome.
I agree that IE is the worst of the trio (Imho of course), It's not the unholy creation of satan that it once was. It's still the only browser the responds to the DPI setting in windows. Its security is closer to the other other browsers now, and you can manage it with group policy...
I think its about time we reccomended the right tool for the right job, as opposed to just avoiding it outright.
I really expected someone to go "I think star wars day is on the _____" but nobody ever did... I'm just going to ruin the joke.
May the fourth be with you.
I'm really curious as to when it's acceptable to look at someone’s history for productivity. I mean, Do you do regular checks of employees? Or do you wait until there is a problem and then use web history as another good reason as to why the employee shouldn't be working there?
Just from a union and fairness point of view, it seems a bit off to only check one person’s history. If one person gets regularly checked, so should everybody else... Right?
I really like MS Security essentials... I hate to say it.. but I actully do trust Microsoft much more then McAfee and Symantec. I would try this out in a heartbeat.
I really wouldn't trust Norton any more then McAfee.
Honestly - I don't know what the right answer for a corporate entity is... There is just something really scummy about both companies that I don't like.
I hate to refute this because you seem like a type of person that practices religion because it's important to *you*. I respect that.
But, quite frankly, both sides can pull random quotes of scripture out of a book and say that they are all about love and togetherness. At the end of day I'm still told that I should be put to death because I’m gay. (Leviticus 20:13). That's just as extremist.
It's blind faith that’s the problem. Not a particular religion.
I cannot belive that:
a) An exploit like this exists. SANITIZE ALL INPUTS!
b) It took this long to find.
This reminds me a lot of the exploit on android where it acted like all text entered was typed into a terminal.
It's really great seeing incentives for students to work hard. when I was in high school I knew the rewards were not nearly worth the effort to acheive them... So apathy took over.
HOWEVER. Hard working does not alyways equate to maturity. Its the same as intelligence, smart guys can still be assholes at times.
I'm interested to see how this turns out.
There was a fuss a while back about apple including a checksum in the itunes database file that made it impossible to sync the ipod in other applications. It didn't take programmers very long to crack it, but they did mention that they had to use quite a few cryptography techniques to do it.
Point being, there is a reverse engineering of Apple's software going on. I believe they can be sued for that.

Theres a guy in every group thats into cougars. He may not admit it, but he's there.

I was thinking more along the lines of a depreciated already existing one.

I know, That really sold the post didnt it? I should really work for microsoft. I would be a huge improvement over their current marketing group...

And the day after star wars day too... We are going to have some seriously bipolar geeks by the time this is all done.
This whole thing is riddled with hypocrisies. I mean, Steve is being a real douche here.. Even more then usual.
If they want to promote open standards, they should try not to look so fucking two-faced about it.
All encrypted traffic is throttled on my canadian ISP, Rogers. Port 443, BT, VPN. Its pretty rediclious.
Clearly these purses are being bought by the bucket load. http://www.fractalspin.com/x/product.php?cat=13&page=1&productid=156

Proof that spell check is useless without a brain to go with it. I think I need another cup of Coffee.
Isnt there a statue of limitations in germany? I mean, FAT is like 20 years old.

He tried to reproduce it and had problems? The summary of the problem made it seem like all svchost.exe's would get deleted no matter what.
I wonder what sort of specific conditions had to be met? Not that I like coming to the defense of McAfee... But has this been overblown?
