That's there on all difficulties. He just missed it. I also never played with the mouse, I didn't feel there was a whole lot of point as Doom wasn't exactly a game of precision aiming.
It never was a pandemic. When there's a significant mortality rate, then it can be called a pandemic. Just getting the flu and feeling miserable doesn't count.
Huh? One of the huge selling points of Bad Company 2 was that it had support for dedicated servers. They made a big deal of it to catch the attention of people who were disgruntled with MW2.
And there is a very important thing that Windows users love to deny, but I witness each and every day: The typical Windows machine is constantly in need of attention for malware, driver problems, and so forth. Macs... aren't. You can debate the reasons until the sun goes down, but it doesn't change the fact that a Mac requires a lot less maintainance from its owner.
That only holds true if the problem is not the owner. In the majority of cases, that is the problem. Because I don't click yes on every link I see offering me free porn, or to enlarge my penis, or to download pink kitty icons, I don't (as a rule) have problems with malware. Your other reason, drivers, is complete bullshit. My drivers got installed once. When the OS was installed. On my machine I did it (since I installed the OS), on the average user's machine it would be done by the manufacturer... but still only necessary once.
I have also had the job of supporting Mac users when I worked in the IT dept at college. Quite the contrary to what you claim, they needed just as much attention as the PC users... because the problem was the users, not what OS they used.
Please don't insult us by saying that Win7 is just as good as OSX.
Please don't insult Windows by claiming that OSX is anywhere near as good as it, let alone better than it.
The hardware is better and the software is better.
The hardware is the same, but costs more (inexplicably). The software is worse. Neither of those is a compelling reason to choose a brand. In fact, they are the compelling reasons that keep me away.
you certainly wouldn't be putting Windows 7 in the same category as Snow Leopard.
You're absolutely right, but not for the reasons you think. Windows has been a long way ahead of Mac OS since Windows 2000, if not longer. About all Mac OS has going for it is that it's built on UNIX, so it scores geek points. Give me a sane GUI over the shit that Apple puts in their operating systems any day.
You mean the DC handgun ban where they upheld the damn Constitution? That case was the precise opposite of activism: it was upholding the law of the land, which guarantees the right to bear arms.
No, both parties are spiteful, self-centered assholes who sell out the country to make a quick buck for themselves. Stop drinking the damned kool-aid already: almost no one makes it to Washington without being in it for themselves, and no one else.
When I played the beta of SC2, I could play against bots, but it was not obvious how to do so (you had to create a "multiplayer" game, and just fill it with bots rather than opening it to people). It could have been something added later, however.
Oh wait, no, everyone liked the graphics. The story was terrible.
That's a matter of opinion. I thought the story was great, it really sucked me in. The beautiful (and terrible) thing about art is that it's all relative.
People read books for story. People do anything else for excitement.
Nope. I play games for story first, gameplay second. There are rare exceptions (Portal, for example, which I feel has an awful story but amazing gameplay), but they're just that: rare exceptions.
Just in case you weren't aware (your post reads to me as if you aren't): there was a New Super Mario Bros on the DS before the Wii. It's very good, although if you've played the Wii game you're not missing out to the extent that you should pick up a DS just for that. At the time, though, it was the first real Mario game we had had since Super Mario World, it was an amazing breath of fresh air.
As a guy born in '85 who hates (most of) the music of the 60s, I beg to differ. The 70s, on the other hand... that was probably the peak of music (in my not-so-humble opinion), with some spillover into the 80s. There has been good music after the 80s, but not on such a scale.
I have found, a lot of times, that the libertarians most closely align with my beliefs, however I work to not fall into the trap that the party is homogenous, and try to do research on candidates before I vote for/against them (for example, although I largely think the Democratic party is worthless, I'm a huge fan of Russ Feingold due to his strong track record for civil liberties).
I know that. I never said otherwise. I was addressing this particular liar's statement. Unlike most of my countrymen (and a surprising number of posters here), I'm not stupid enough to think that one party is less corrupt and power-hungry than the other.
You're absolutely right. It's been my experience that most people won't complain about that behavior in games which have an attack/defend setup, however. It's only when it happens in deathmatches that people whine (and even then, it's still a perfectly legitimate tactic).
That's not the point. The point is that even if OS security were perfect, there would still be machines which were completely fucked. No amount of OS security will stop the user from wanting free kitten screen savers.
This doesn't excuse vulnerabilities that do exist in operating systems, but since Co0Ps specifically mentioned that he/she was actively agreeing to download certain pieces of malware, it bears mentioning.
It is sad, that's for sure, but at the same time it's unfair to blame Android for this debacle. Android is the OS, and it's not Google's fault that Motorola is so blatantly circumventing the spirit of the OS. Apple, on the other hand, controls the entire system, hardware and software. Thus, anything you don't like about the iPhone can be squarely blamed on them.
Personally, I just hope the rest of the industry doesn't think Motorola has had a bright idea here, and try to follow suit. I also can't see myself getting any of the Motorola phones in the future... I love my Droid, but damned if I'm going to support a company that's pulling stunts like this.
Right, but all the same, it's not reasonable for anyone to expect the world to halt progress for their sake. If it takes that kind of insanity for companies to realize that they have to balance upgrade costs vs support costs, then maybe we should go through that. Not pleasant, I know, but sometimes lessons have to be learned the hard way.

I was unaware of that! That's pretty shitty of them, especially with the way they were going on about "our game has dedicated servers".

Why the hell should anyone give two shits about the mayor of a city they have nothing to do with? You make no sense.
If that's the best argument you can make, it's you that is the moron. It makes me sad that someone actually thought this tripe was "informative".
No, both parties are spiteful, self-centered assholes who sell out the country to make a quick buck for themselves. Stop drinking the damned kool-aid already: almost no one makes it to Washington without being in it for themselves, and no one else.
Consensus according to whom? Everyone I know (including me) loves Civ IV.
As did the GameCube version.

The FCC's rush to takeover the Internet is just the latest example of the need for fundamental reform to protect consumers.
The FCC is trying to protect consumers, you fuck. Honestly, do these people believe that anyone will swallow lies like that?
You're absolutely right. It's been my experience that most people won't complain about that behavior in games which have an attack/defend setup, however. It's only when it happens in deathmatches that people whine (and even then, it's still a perfectly legitimate tactic).
Even before that. War2 had excellent cutscenes for its time as well.
That's not the point. The point is that even if OS security were perfect, there would still be machines which were completely fucked. No amount of OS security will stop the user from wanting free kitten screen savers.
