I can do the cube, and have been able to since like 8th grade. When I first solved it, it would take me like a half hour. Then in 10th grade, I found a solution online that allowed me to do it in 10 minutes. And then my senior year, I found a 3 minute solution. After a few more years of using that method, I can regularly get a cube solved in a minute and a half. I know there are quicker algorithms out there, but I have dedicated the time for them. Most people have the patience and intrigue to stick around for a couple of minutes while I solve it. They always say "You can do that so fast!". I'ts like someone telling you your Ford Taurus is fast when they've never seen a Corvette. I'm always like "I don't do this fast, trust me". I always thought the record was less than 20 seconds. I remember seeing a guy do it in 16 seconds before. Maybe this is the average of a few cubes, I guess.
I'm calling your bull. 6 inches of snow will affect the city, but not drastically. Start talking feet (1', did you hold shift on accident?), and then we're in a bad way.
Most of your questions above, if asked individually, you would get a negative response, or whatever response limits you the most. Ask them in conjunction, and I imagine you won't ever get a straight answer.
My only suggestiong would be to setup multiple accounts. This might get a little cumbersome in the folders window, but shouldn't be too bad if you collapse all your alias accounts.
This is all true, but what I think the author is talking about is that this is something that should be easy to fix/solve. Get money from people should always be a businesses first priority. Screwing that up put's stress on the rest of the system.
What more can we say? This is a good thing. Although, this still leaves the measures in the act usuable, just whoever wants to use them needs to apply a little extra grease to the gears now.
When does the givernment ever listen to the general public? And why should they. Inmates running the asylum? I've always heard that was a bad idea. If the givernment listened to public outcries, no one would pay taxes, and weed would be legal.
I don't think Apple would even want to distribute songs over iTunes in a not DRM fashion. I imagine they're making a per purchase profit, so by allowing someone to download a totally unsecure file means they could lose revenue. Like the previous reply'er said, if they want to release a non-DRM track, then they can do it on thier own time, money, and bandwidth.
Side note: if you do go the water route - restaurants are annoying. There seems to be a belief that if you ask for water it is because you are 1) not really thirsty or 2) cheap. Either way they bring you out about a thimble sized glass. That annoys me because I drink a lot when I eat. If they're so worried, then charge for water, I drink it because I want it, not because I'm trying to save a dollar on my meal.
Yes, I did start to notice this. As long as you don't mind doing two things, you'll be in the clear. First is ask for a big glass of water. You might come off sounding like a dick, but if it'll save your server 4 trips, I'm sure s/he won't mind. Next, tip like you did get a soda or whatever. Throw in an extra buck or two if you were willing to pay for the water anyways. Make it be known that we water drinkers are the cheap tightwads we're stereotyped to be!
For about 3 years straight, I drank at least 6 cans of dew a day, and that was slow. Most days was 9-12. I know that's nothing compared to hardcore coffee chuggers, but it still amounts to a signicant amount. And then about 4 month ago, for no other reason that to lose weight, I replaced all fluid intake with good ole water. Cold turkey, too. I didn't have an caffeine, to my knowledge, for about 2 months. No soda, coffee, tea, chocolate, stacker2, nothing. And I never really felt a withdrawl period. Although, along with the whole losing weight thing, I started a regular gym routine, so I might have knocked out any sort of feelings I might have had with pure metabolism. But this is just my anecdotal evidence against any sort of addiction. Although the guy who drink 3 pots of coffee a day might say otherwise.
Is it just me, or does it look like Sony is presenting this purely as a new media format, that they just happen to be using in the PSP? Kinda like the memory stick, Sony seems to be addings another proprietary format to their ranks. Your new VAIO will not only be able to read these, but eventually, they'll be UMD-R's and RW's that will write your AIBO 3.0 code on and slip right into your digi pooch. Or not. I'm only guessing
I'm an Air Transportation Apprentice. Bascially, I load and unload cargo and people from planes, and keep record of such things. I'm hired muscle for the Air Force.
I had to pay for my first year of college with mainly student loans. I didn't qualify for enough student aid, and didn't recieve much scholarships. I realized I wouldn't be able to handle that debt x4 years, so I followed my brother's advice, a sailor, and joined the Air Force Reserves. I got a nice elistment bonus ($8000), plus the GI Bill (almost $700 a month, for 3 years), and a well paying weekend job ($200 a weekend). I was able to recieve more money in federal aid after enlisting and didn't have to take any more loans to pay for school. I highly suggest this for anyone thinking of paying for school by themselves, i.e. no rich uncles. Even the waiting a year part, since I got 2 stripes for having 30 college creditsand the GI Bill only pays for 3 years anyways.
WebDAV has been a headache for for a long time, until I decided to just disable it altogther. I realized I never had a purpose for it, personally, so I added the disabling registry key too all my servers. If you know any good that WebDAV does, I'd like to know about it.
I feeel obligated to defend my state. Most people, when they think of New Jersey, think of Newark, the location of the airport, which, when most people come to my home state, come here. Newark is an inudutrail hell nightmare, and the surrounding "suburbs" of Newark are even scarier. The second most common entry point in Camden, the city that people coming to NJ from I 95 come through. Camden is a nice place to be, if you're a bullet. But other than those two extremes, NJ is a fucking great place to live. Pretty much everything outside of those two uber densely populated areas is greener than green. We have supertatsic beaches, despite the bad publicity of the 80's. Hell if NJ was so bad, my highways in Central Jersey wouldn't be crammed fully of NY jerkoffs coming down to ruin my summer. So next time to smash Jersey for being a cesspool, please, visit Monmouth County. We're that little nub in the middle of state, eastside. Sandy Hook, anyone?
The author states that as a part of his $100 Billion package, a large chunk will go to alternative energy solutions, such as wind, solar, tidal, and what not. But his biggest point is to dump vast amount of cash into technology for a newer kind of safer nuclear plant, uranium pebbles cooled by helium. It's supposed to be vastly safer, because it doesn't heat up enough to meltdown. There's one in South Africa right now, so it's not experimental technology, it's just not being used widespread yet.
I imagine a caveat of this plan would be that all these new alternative energy sources must be used to make hyrdogen, and not just to sell over the grid. After all, this is a hydrogen stimulus package.
I don't know why, I had thought SuSE were frogs, too.

Presenting The CDR-ROM

I also think this making piracy HARDER, not easier, as one of the previous reply'ers says. TO play the game, you need the cd. And you can't just burn a copy, since it's a special cdr rom, that either you can't buy, or it's an exact size, that you wouldn't be able to match. And per the other reply'er, you could have the option of putting stuff on the HD, or even, totally install to the HD, but the cd needs to be in the tray. Since the whole unique cd type comes up, it'd be a decent anti-piracy method, but of course, with enough time/effort/people, anything can be sidestepped.
Becuas ehtye already paid for the hardware, so they are ALLOWED to buy the new software. The fact that it costs anything is just a cost of entry. They can't have their new, nifty OS being given away. If they gave away the OS, it makes them look bad, on a consumer end, because people, in general, think they get what they pay for. Also, people with this older hardware would cause more tech support isuues, since you never know what could go wrong with legacy systems. I imagine a nice percentage of that dough goes to duplication, packaging, shipping, and retailers pockets. General overheard for a shelved product.

I thought Linux/OSS was of the "Do one thing, and do it right" philosophy? So if Microsoft does the same, it's unsecure and A Bad Thing?
