Now tell me - how many scientists are saying that the fact that we don't understand our deep-ocean currents as completely as we thought we did means that there is no GW? How many are saying that this invalidates AGW? None?
How many of those scientists would have their funding cut if they said that there was no Global Warming or that it wouldn't have any serious repercussions?
Personally, I don't buy what anybody says, when they are being paid to say it.
That account only has to have read only search to the directory. You can setup ACI's to prevent it being able to do anything but return authentication search results.
Anonymous search is common for both AD and LDAP directories. If you set things up correctly, all you can see with this account/password are the same you could see on a linux/unix box by doing a "getent {passwd,group,host...} command.
Under FISA, there was/is always time to get a warrant, as you can begin the wiretap immediately and have 72 hours to fill out the paperwork and get the warrant after the fact. So your comment on there not being enough time is utterly wrong.
FISA also provides the appropriate supervision by a panel of judges who do precisely what you claim needs to be done. Unfortunately, completely eliminating the point of your entire post, is the fact that what the Bush administration, the telco's and the NSA have done is warantless wiretaps, that didn't follow the law (FISA) and were ENTIRELY an example of your "anything goes with no consequences, ever" policy .
Basically your whole post describes FISA as your perfect ideal. When the facts of the matter are that what actually has been done is in complete violation of FISA.
Since I linked to wikipedia and this is slashdot, I will finally end with this request: People have died because no warrant was available in time. [Citation needed]
Wallmart sells prepaid Alltel simple freedom phones. I am sure you have Walmart's in Northern AR. Your mistake was stepping foot in the Alltel store in the first place. You can convert the simple freedom pre-paid phone to a regular billed account phone through their website or by calling Alltel directly. They are more than happy to take your money. You can even add the prepaid phone on as a second phone on an existing account.
The walmart phones are simple no frills Motorola flip phones. Basically stripped down RAZR clones.
There are a few uses for double nat, consider a home user with a secure wired network and an unsecured wireless network. You set the wireless behind the second nat router and block it off from your wired network all with a single external ip address.
Where can one find one of your mythical journalists with integrity, ethics and that does accurate background checks and fact finding without political bias?
I think they stopped teaching and believing that stuff in the late 70's, early 80's. Walter Cronkite was the last of the old school network journalists.
The new breed journalists care much more about how well their hair and makeup look on tv and how much salary and air time they can soak up, while reading Edutainment and Factoids off a teleprompter. They also have no qualms about brazenly interjecting their own political biases into the mix.
Andre Norton is what got me started in SciFi Fantasy.
The witch world series,The Time Agents Series and basically her entire 100+ book catalog is all appropriate reading for pre-teens.
I'd say it is. I'm under the impression, that dark matter & energy hypothesis (I think it's fair to call it a hypothesis at this point) is the simplest explanation for all the observations that we have. So I'd say it's very much science, as good science as we're capable of.
Feel free to provide a nicer model that still explains the current observations, though. I'm sure the Nobel Foundation will reward you for your efforts if you get it right enough!
It's String and Fairy dust, I say!
If you are looking for a nicer model, how about this one.,
Green Mountain Energy gets the bulk of their power from Natural Gas fired generation. I was a business customer for years and I actually read the fine print on the Pie Graph in their monthly energy news letter. Their wind and solar plants are mostly technology demos.
Not in landfill it doesn't. Learn some basic science. If you go to a dump, you can find 50 year old newspapers and phone books that look better preserved than they would in a museum. Get off my planet, you pathetic waste of oxygen.
That's not a problem, that's carbon sequestering. It's your Carbon credits in action.
You don't really understand how bribes work apparently. The lobbyist either walks into the Politician's office and just happens to leave a rather fat envelope stuffed with unmarked, pre-circulated Benjamin's, or if they are even more discreet, the envelope is stuffed under a door after hours.
Cash transactions don't show on income tax returns. So there is no reason or point to looking at the tax returns, the good stuff is on the second set of books.
It certainly makes it free for those of us that quit playing the game over a year ago. If I were to reactivate my account, I would get access to all the new content and it didn't cost me a dime. So to me, it would be totally free content.
Myself, I am taking a break from pay to play MMOG's and am waiting for the release of Warhammer.
"Most likely yes as iTunes is the only app that sets the flag. How quickly will Apple patch around the hack is the interesting question...."
They can patch around the hack by randomizing the location of the sys_ent table in memory when the kernel loads. 64 Bit Vista does this already as does OpenBSD and I think recent versions of the Linux Kernal.
It's only a matter of time.
According to Keith Laumer's timeline, the Bolo Mark I was built right around now. Though I think he had Ford Motor company doing it, and not Carnegie Mellon.:)
Boot time is a really stupid metric. How often do you really boot either XP or Linux?
My uptimes for both tend to be ~90 days. So who really cares whether it takes 20 seconds or 10 minutes to boot either operating system?

Here are two sources to give you a start.
The Art of Electronics
Neets

Sun One Directory Server and RedHat Directory server come from the same code base.
They are both descended from the original University of Michigan LDAP server.
Which became the Netscape/Iplanet LDAP server.
Having actually used both, they are near 90% identical in look and feel. Even the admin consoles look almost the same.
I could care less, or I could care more. It's a matter of degree. /grin
It's not always wrong.
To be fair, the loops were really tail recursive calls.
To be honest, I didn't get anywhere near as much tail recursive calls as I would have liked in college.
You are either seriously confused or totally ignorant of the law.
The legal, Constitutional and approved way of wiretapping terrorists was under the auspices of FISA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Intelligence_Surveillance_Act

You would call them North Americans.
The question to ask now is if a sunspeck is smaller than a plutoid.
In my other posts I mention the pumped storage that others have mentioned as well. Hoover damn does it certain times of year mostly at night.
So you are saying, they run water through the turbines to generate electricity to pump that water back up behind the dam?
I'm sorry, but in my house we obey the second law of thermodynamics.
What Hoover dam does is just close the sluice gates when they don't need the power or when the water level behind the dam gets too low.

I remember as a wee lad, that they were talking about the existance of Planet X .
I was all excited, because that was the home of Monster Zero .
Now they say that Pluto is no longer a planet, and Planet X either doesn't exist or is now Planet IX. Way to kill a childhood dream astronomers!
