Regardless of the fact that the Chinese government is paying for it, the people trying to do some good are in effect supporting pollution, and THAT is the problem.

I am the farthest thing from an environmentalist (I still have yet to see a clear cut case for or against global warming), but pollution isn't a "China" or "US" problem, it's a world problem. When Chernobyl blew up, it dumped fallout all over, not just Russia. It wasn't "their" problem, it was everyone's. The same can be said for the oceans and I'm sure people can make cases for the land.

I was under the impression that UFS is preferred if you absolutely know you won't be using OS 9 software. Can you point me to a link that discusses the pros and cons? Thanks.

This is a slightly incorrect statement. Case sensitivity is dependent on the filesystem format. To keep compatability with OS 9 (for users that upgrade), OS X can be installed on a HFS+ partition. To maintain that compatability though as a consequence, it is case insensitive. OS X on a clean install presents you with an option to install as a HFS+ install or a UFS (Unix File System) install. The UFS is a case sensitive file system. I think the default install on a machine you get from Apple right now is an HFS+ version. However, if you are doing a complete reinstall or new install and want "classic" mode, I'd recommend setting up two partitions, one UFS for OS X and one HFS+ for your older apps.

Gamecube (and nintendo in general) is about social game playing. That's why 90% of their first party titles are all about pick up and play (not to mention that the N64 was the first (modern) system to come with 4 controller ports standard). It would be key if nintendo could just reuse the discs on a portable. They're recycling (yay!) some of the SNES games, but they have to port them for the GBA. If they could just create a handheld that used the Cube discs, I think they'd continue to dominate the handheld market for years

See, to me, Theo and his attitude are good for the OS. Theo wants things his way(tm) or the highway. This means that only software that _he_ wants to run and use will be included. Would you write software that you wouldn't trust or use? Given that the rest of the OpenBSD team checks Theo's work too, I trust that the OpenBSD product will be a robust, secure OS. Darren's porduct AFAIK will only be audited by himself. This to me is not as secure or as desireable as the official OpenBSD product and therefore won't be used by me for the whole reason of using OpenBSD: security. I've never met Theo, and from what I understand he can be a real ass, but something about his analality (??) helps me sleep at night not worrying about my home network getting haX0red.

I can get to my command line, I know all the software will work with all the hardware and it was just _fun_ to tool around with in the store.
