"Another thing is that they've thinned the line between 'their network' and 'my Xbox' (note: I don't actually own one). The Xbox automatically signs in to Xbox live if there's a network connection." Since you don't actually own one, you wouldn't know you're wrong about it signing in. It doesn't automatically sign in. You can tell it to, or you can sign in yourself. The other thing is if you don't have an Xbox Live account, you can't sign in at all.

It's not even a few minutes of commercials. Most of the commercials are 15 seconds and one at the most. The quality is OK. I don't really sit down and watch tv, as I'm usually doing something else at the same time. Saves a ton of money on Tivo subscriptions and DVR, plus I don't have to remember to set the VCR (yes.....the VCR).

Or, we'll just have kids having this conversation with their shrienks: Cole Sear: We were supposed to draw a picture, anything we wanted. I drew a man who got hurt in the neck by another man with a screwdriver. Malcolm Crowe: You saw that on TV, Cole? Cole Sear: Everyone got upset. They had a meeting. Mom started crying. I don't draw like that any more. Malcolm Crowe: How do you draw now? Cole Sear: Draw... people smiling, dogs running, rainbows. They don't have meetings about rainbows. The pricing was estimated. But if you actually read the information about it at Bungie, they explain all the stuff you're getting. It is what it is. And almost double the first time around? Check your math. Halo3 regular is 60 bucks. so that's only 40 more going off of the estimated 100 price. so now you're looking at double when they made it to 130. But, is the 70 worth it? I know a lot of people who are. The helmet, the behind-the scenes stuff, all of the RvB... The real story, though I doubt will happen, is whether or not the Xbox 360 Pro version will have a slight price drop. I've been holding out on buying my console because of the price (I think it's ridiculous to spend that kind of money on a video game system, PS3 or Xbox). But, you know if the new maps for H2 are for the 360 only, I'll be out buying it. Hopefully, not.

Except for a bands/artists that have gotten their start with audience live recordings (Dave Matthews Band, Phish, String Cheese to name a few) The fact of the matter is, if an artist/band would make a full album that's not crap, I'd be happy to spend the money on the whole album. If it's the latest pop song and there's two sons on the album, why am I going to spend the 11 bucks on the whole album when I can spend the 2 on the songs that will be off my playlist in four months?

That's fine. I still hate the tactics. But, IMO, the fines they are using is really high. They first have provided no evidence of the number of songs downloaded. If someone downloaded 50 songs, there's no way they lost $300. Even if it were 100-200 songs, go with the $1 per song. That's $200. Now multiply that by 5. Maybe.

    whatever.

I just got an offer from Suddenjoke (I mean, suddenlink) about a internet phone for 40 bucks a month, before tax. I pay 19.70 with my Vonage service with a local Indiana number for my parents to call me while I live in Texas. (If people in TX want a local #, they can call my cell). I dropped Verizon two years ago because the taxes that they were charging were ridiculous (~20% of my phone bill). Any problems that I've had with my phone service with Vonage was because of my ISPs inability to provide me with a decent connection and literally tens of hours on the phone with the idiots with Cox/Suddenlink. There's still no competition in my area with either internet (Suddenlink/Verizon--who still doesn't have FIOS in the area) or tv (I dropped down to the basic of basic cable packages b/c I was sick of paying Suddenlink).
