  1. Re:The other side of the coin on Do Recreational Drugs Help Programmers? · · Score: 5, Interesting

I almost never drink coffee or tea with caffeine. Not that I'm against them, I just don't like them, I prefer herbal teas. No Mtn Dew or Cola either.

The problem is when I do need some caffeine (Monday overflow or something) if I drink a small cup of regular coffee, I get all anxious and shaky, my pulse increases and overall I feel bad. So, if I didn't get enough sleep, coffee does not make me feel better.

This happens to me with weed... I generally have a better experience with it if I'm using it regularly. If I let my tolerance get too low it makes me uncomfortably anxious and paranoid. I've heard other people say this too.

I think there could be demand from people who really want to buy a new console since it's been a while (6 years in 2012) since there was one.

Don't know if you want recommendations for games, but here are some anyway:
    Zack and Wiki
    Metroid Prime 3
No More Heroes 1 and 2

Zelda's coming in the fall and that looks pretty awesome.

I agree. Among the opponents of legalization in California are the growers, since the profits will be lower if everyone can grow legally.

I think Return of the Jedi was a more disappointing movie. The change in tone in this from Empire was more drastic than the change between this and the prequels.

I agree. There are some games that I won't sell (the Zelda games, the Ratchet and Clank games, etc.) because they're really fun to replay once every two years or so.

I liked XII a lot, I would say it is my favorite FF. I wouldn't have been aware of the chest-opening thing unless I had read it in a FAQ, I can see your point there, but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the game.

The GBA Micro is actually really cool, just because it's actually pocket-sized, about the size of a small cell phone. I agree, though, I wouldn't want to sell my SP.

I've heard cannabis can be beneficial for repetitive activities, like pitching in baseball.

Is Zeromus the last boss? I think you should be OK at level 60, there are some tricks I found at gamefaqs that helped a *lot*. It involves letting 2 of your party members die, and duplicating a weapon (though I don't know if the second part is really necessary). With 2 members dead, the rest heal easier.

I thought there was some sort of 'tower', near the beginning of "Sacred Stones", that you could go in and basically level all day, if you wanted. Like a torunament-dungeon, sort of thing?

There is one of these in the Sacred Stones, but not in the first (American) GBA Fire Emblem.

  12. Re:Nope! on Have You Hit a Gaming Wall? · · Score: 1

It's annoying that it's the *only* way sometimes, though. When Metroid Prime 2 came out, I got to the end before there were any Action Replay cheats discovered for it, and had to wait a few days because the final boss was stupidly difficult and I wasn't having fun.

I'm playing this right now. I'm at the Torvus Bog, about a third of the way through, and I've already wondered if I should just give up a few times. Nice to know it's going to get harder... I was hoping it would be easier than the first Metroid Prime, which was a little bit too difficult for my tastes. At least some of the boss battles.

  13. Re:Final Fantasy VII on Have You Hit a Gaming Wall? · · Score: 1

I had a similar experience with Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, on the Gameboy Advance. I played all the way through this RPG, having a great time, and then found myself in the final battle without enough attack points to defeat the enemy, even after a solid half hour of the same combo-attack/counter/replenish-HP sequence over and over again. So I gave up.

the same thing happened to me... i did go back and level grind for a while, but that's just because i'm compulsive about finishing stuff. though i never finished the incredibles (VG) or labyrinth of evil (horrendous star wars book)...
