  1. Stupid police. on Dutch Police Train Bald Eagles To Take Out Drones · · Score: 2

The quadcopter they showed with the eagle is a Spyrit Max FPV T2M, a toy level 230 size (measured in mm diagonally from motor-motor), and weighs less than 600g when it has the prop guards & camera on board (which it didn't at the time), yet the 360 sized quads (like the DJI Phantom) weigh around a 1000g and get heavier when you add things a camera & 3 axis gimbal, plus they have brushless motors that are far more powerful than the brushed motors of the Spyrit.

A Cheerson CX-20 is around the same size as a Phantom, and one has already accidentally killed a bald eagle that had attacked it: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=33893158&postcount=56152

  12. Scroll wheel speed on Chrome Passes 25% Market Share, IE and Firefox Slip · · Score: 1

The main reason I dislike using Chrome on a PC unless I have to is that the scroll speed when using the mouse wheel, or more likely the scroll slider on a laptop touchpad, makes the page zip up/down so fast it's really difficult to have any sort of fine control over where on the page you scroll to. Why the fuck they changed that I have no idea, I tried a scroll plugin to get the scroll speed back to the norm (ie FireFox) but no matter how I tinkered with the settings I never got it to feel comfortable. So it's FireFox all the way with me.

The iOS keyboard character case thing isn't just restricted to their phones you ignorant twat, my portable devices are Android and I only discovered the keyboard case thing when I had to use an iPad to browse the web one time.

It left me scratching my head as to why someone would do such a ridiculous thing where the only indication that you were typing in uppercase was the shift key highlighted a different colour.
My guess is that they wanted the keyboard to look like a traditional keyboard with the non-changing keys because it's familiar to users, but they completly ignored the fact that it's a touchscreen keyboard which allows you to dynamically change the layout at will to suit the situation in hand.

I still think it's a fucking stupid idea when virtually all Androids keyboards change their case to signify what letters will actually appear when you type.

Even if the beta wasn't on the horizon, increasing the article count would probably dilute the content.

Dice don't appear to understand that articles != slashdot content. Why else would they force an abomination of a comment system on the slashdot users.
