Not much speculation is really needed, just look at all the current portable Apple products with memory card slots...
They prefer to do away with SD/microSD slots in favour of internal flash memory, which they charge the fucking earth for, so either they do that so they can rape your wallet and/or they do so because there's more physical space to cram more features in because there's no card slot.
If they didn't have a SIM card slot it would give them more realestate space and less headaches when designing their shiny products, and less physical user interactivity.
I forsee them eventually creating devices that have no physical ports on them at all, so everything is done wirelessly (charging & connectivity).
It's not the limitations of a contacts list, it's that you can't store much in the way of SMS on it, let alone audio/video files.
If they produced something that was a cross between a SIM and a 32GB TF card, _that_ would be very useful, it would mean you could take your contacts/SMS/email/pictures/videos/apps and whatever smartphone you put it into, _that_ would be your phone, meaning easier backing up of your data (just plug it into an adaptor for a PC and press 'copy') and easier to switch phones in the case of upgrades or replacements.
Designed so you can operate it with one hand they're very nice and easy to use, and expensive, but I got my two off eBay for a fraction of the new cost.
Exactly, and similarly what happens if you run out of petrol and have to walk to a garage with an empty petrol can, will the pumps refuse to serve you?
There are some real dumbasses who have too much control.
I was in a bike shop today replacing a front wheel, changing from rim to disc brakes and the discussion led to brakes in general, one guy said he couldn'd help laughing when in the Netherlands on holiday cycling with his wife she went for the brakes on the handlebar only to find they weren't there and subsequently went straight into a lake.
Or Apple will bring out some that will require regular software updates, and if you don't click Agree on the T&C's the brakes lock in the off position.
I actually found a "cell phone" (where I come from they're called mobile phones) on the side of of the road in the grass on Monday whilst cycling, I took it because I thought someone had just dumped an old scratched mobile they didn't want anymore and I could salvage spare parts from it, but it turned out to still work (albeit missing the battery) and the SIM in it was on a montly contract instead of an anonymous pay-as-you-go type, so Tuesday I took it to the local mobile phone shop of the phone network of the SIM, hopefully because it was on a contract the company will have a valid billing address to contact the true owner and get their property back (along with their long list of contacts in the SIM - how many millions of mobile phone owners don't have their contacts written down/backed up?).
If everyone took your attitude towards property and people this world would be a much more miserable place.
Being quite curious here, does anyone have one of those SSD drives you populate with RAM sticks? what are they like compared to a normal HDD and a flash SSD? speed & price wize.
Look at the upside of this, if it sells well then it'll prompt non-Sony companies to try and compete.
Personally I would love to get a set of those HMZ, I have the Glasstron PLM-S700 and the native 832x624 res picture quality is very good due to excellent optics, something which many of the cheap'n'cheerful LCD video glases manufacturers have overlooked, and hopefully the HMZ have the same high-grade optics as the Glasstrons.
I love Futurama and am unashamed to admit when I read it's back for a 7th season I punched the air with both my fists.
My favourite of the most recent series is Lethal Inspection because it feels like the early days of Futurama.
I wish Fox would quit fucking with it though. BTW I purposely stopped watching The Simpsons (new and old) a couple of years back because I realised it just cannot make me laugh out loud at all, whereas Futurama, Family Guy, American Dad, South Park all have made me laugh like a loon on several occasions.

Oh that's easy, just use Aspies instead.
I've got a couple of multimeters that look like tricorders:

You obviously haven't read some of the comments on IMDB and YouTube...

Scan a bunch of coins in instead.
They could offer to buy the pub instead, then they could go nuts with using LOTR & Hobbit imagery for the advertising of the pub.
But I'm going to have to wait a bit for it to be released...
Not sure if this counts, what with it being The KLF and all...

"Something in another country I can access in the comfort of my own home offends me!"

Now I want to see it because someone doesn't want me to se it. Funny that.

Someone needs to give one of these bikes to the Jackass guys - with a 2nd remote control.

I can see screen update speed being an issue when you're looking through the pages of a manual as opposed to casually reading a book.
Yeah cos the .com domain has no takedown issues like the proposed system for the .uk domain...
nope, none at all.

Are you sure they're not being released because Obama hasn't finished reading the PhotoShop manual?
Q: What's the difference between intelligence and stupidity?
A: There's a limit to intelligence.
