Just look at the list of applications supported by Wine and you'll understand why I say that. Basically, if I can run Civ IV, Heroes IV and other strategy games on Linux, and with Matlab having a Linux version, there's very little to justify my using Windows. OK, there's Fruityloops, but that's it!

Hopefully people won't fail to notice that you're just making things up by mentioning some of the words I used, without making any connection to the meaning they had or the context they were in. By simply taking a few words from my post you can distort the meaning of what I said to the point of making it nonsensical, albeit the original was really short and clear. At this point I don't anymore know whether you even understand that post. You seem adamant to find some hidden meaning in it. And it was a fairly short post, too - how you managed to warp it so it can fit your agenda (or bad mood), is emblematic.

I have the PCW8256, and after replacing the rubber belt in the drive, it works perfectly - just like new. These babies can be equipped with a 3.5" floppy drive, and also they have a serial interface. Either of these goodies should allow you to transfer your softwares, eventually, onto a more modern media.

Anyhow, I strongly recommend that you look into getting a PCW or getting in touch with someone who has one and will help you with this transfer.

The ARt of Electronics is one of the most practical-oriented book on electronics you'll ever find. The only thing is, it's oriented to practical problems AND is also 100% correct/accurate in its presentation - just like the most academic of electronics books. This accuracy puts it in a category of its own, while making it even more practically useful, because it leaves very little ambiguity. Take the "Sequential functions available as ICs" chapter, and tell me with a straight face that it doesn't have practical value.
