It's still less ignorant than what this teacher is saying. Maybe this teacher has no clue how the union is funded, it doesn't mean that millions of MS advertising dollars are at work doing a fine job here...
Although probably you need a login for full text. Looks interesting and quite promising for low cost production. I think this technology might not only be interesting for countries lacking reliable health care but also budget strapped labs;)
Your company can say that, and with good reason, but it still raises the question if they are entitled to anonymous blogger's name in a lawsuit. IANAL, but I think they don't.
or even worse, my girlfriend just asks me: Why can I not call my parents with gtalk on your computer? I like kubuntu, but I really don't bother anymore when she's around, I just boot in Windows.
For at least Efficacy and Hassles it has to argued that those are very personal, and experiences may vary. I'm sure it's true for very experienced users, but for my using Linux is mainly driven by the "it is fun" argument, because in general I solve problems much faster on windows XP then Linux, mainly due to lack of experience.
Recently I wanted to install some software to allow Chinese input on my computer for my girlfriend, it took me several days on my linux machine, and the software turned out to be disappointing to say the least. It took me 5 mins. to do the same on Windows to install a tried and true program to do the same. I know this is just annecdotal, but the value comparison you made wouldn't return the same uniform answer to everybody:)
You're kidding right? What public funded lab has the 1 billion US$ or more to bring a drug to the market? That's also the reason why companies prefer to "make minor changes to existing drugs", because developing new drugs, specially for rare diseases is in most cases not a viable business model...
Sounds a bit strange to me, how can they enforce a cap if it is not mentioned in a contract / user agreement? Seems to me that their scare tactics worked and they tricked you into paying more for a business connection while they have no legal basis to say that you were using too much bandwidth...
Or perhaps you could just look for a review elsewhere before you don't trust Netflix? Problem solved, next!
Really? And in what language should they be producing this?
Wow, and I was just assuming millionaires don't need to pirate movies... :-)
If this sort of thing would happen on my kid's school I would be very concerned with the general level of education...

or maybe just move out of the basement...

I thought seeing Bee Movie *was* the end of the world...
Soylent Green?
Hmmm, I checked but there seems to be no "talking out of his ass" mod...
So, why not adding it to... water? Because that way you wouldn't get in the newspaper, not even a /. mention?
Don't tell anyone, but it's a conspiracy against Muslims!
Well, not if you assume fat tissue derived stem cells are too differentiated to become anything else as fat tissue cells, like heart muscle cells ;)
They're both derived from the mesoderm, so yes same germ layer.
that depends on your definition of "limited number" :)
No you don't ;)
>[...]but you can't just suddenly shift to a totally new system overnight.
Like you can not shift overnight to let's say, a communist system?

Yes, except that most scientists you're referring to were social scientists mis-interpreting / not-understanding Darwin's evolution theory.
Yeah, some politician who shares your ideas wrote a book about that. Oh, wait, it's Adolf Hitler, guess you already read it...
