  1. Hypocrit on Eric Schmidt: Regulate Civilian Drones Now · · Score: 1

I'd be more worried about cars driving past my house taking photos & snooping private data from my wifi. Oh wait.......its only Google so its OK.

  2. Re:Unauthorized export resale? on New Hampshire Cops Use Taser On Woman Buying Too Many iPhones · · Score: 1

Taser is meant to be a last resort weapon, not a first restort. It's a milder alternative to shooting

Then a taser isn't the last resort is it ? Shooting is the last resort, the taser comes somewhere before that. Its not difficult.

  3. Loaded question on Strong Climate Change Opinions Are Self-Reinforcing · · Score: 1

  4. RTFA on Internet Explorer Users Have Low Risk Intelligence · · Score: 1

  5. Appstore replies ? on Developer Calls Amazon Appstore a 'Disaster' · · Score: 3, Interesting

So he got a bad review on Amazon App store he couldn't reply to & affected sales ? I have exactly the same problem on Android Marketplace, some user didn't realise what the app did (its a Utility not a game) & posted a "Dont waste your money" review on a £0.99 app. I refunded him, but I can't respond to his comments, reply to him or have the comments withdrawn, my sales slumped after that. Android Market place is no better than Amazon on this point.

  6. Yeah but no but Yeah but... on UK To Offer PCs For £98, Subsidized Internet Connections · · Score: 2

  8. Microsoft Big Brother on Microsoft Eyes PC Isolation Ward To Thwart Botnets · · Score: 1

Sounds like their chasing their dream of dictating what you install & run on your PC, and who is "allowed" to connect to the internet. Think we all know where they can stick that certificate.

Maybe we should tax cars to pay for the man who walks in front with the red flag being made superflous ? Oh wait, technology has surpassed him already. In the words of Nelson "HaHa - your medium is dying". Anyone who responds "There's being right & There's being nice" will gain extra kudos. ;-)

  12. Re:I can think of a couple reasons why developers. on Are Consoles Holding Back PC Gaming? · · Score: 1

Spot on ! Anyone who bought Battlefield Bad Company 2 for PC, and had low-spec hardware - still within min specs but not the latest - will know this ! EA made a bad job of specifying the min specs, what they said should work did not. To make it worse, they have done nothing about resolving the problem or even acknowledging a problem, its been left to gamers to post in forums & solve this. PC gaming will always face such problems, console versions only take away resources from the PC development cycle.

  17. Too any rules on Wikipedia Approaches Its Limits · · Score: 1

Wikipedia has way to many rules & guidelines, to get full knowledge of them & keep up to date as they are altered is too much commitment for the casual contributor. And if you violate one even slightly, the pompous hard-core will revert your edit in seconds, and most likely make a snide comment about you not knowing something or another published somewhere deep in their guidelines. Its become to cliquey, run by self righteous nerds. I used to make regular contributions, but its not for me any more.

Coming from some outsider in the US, telling us UK readers whats REALLY happening in our country, I can only snigger at his lack of grasp. Of course "Big Brother" wants you to think they are not watching you. Perhaps you haven't heard about how CCTV is misused to spy ? Or how anti-terrorism laws are used against non-terrorists because existing laws dont give enough power to snoop ? I'll take this review as seriously as you would my review of American politics.

Opting out, like everyone says, confirms a valid email address. Thats worth a lot to a scammer. But also, you should also disable auto-preview in your emails. I use Outlook and with the preview pane it shows the contents of the email. As HTML email is very popular, the scammer can easily put something in the HTML displayed to query their server with a unique code to identify that you have looked at the email. Turn off previews, dont respond & just delete all scam emails.
