What is stopping you from creating your own organization to stop these abusive practices? Nothing.
Instead you expect someone else to do it for you. Elected officials aren't supposed to protect you from every small thing people may encounter in their lives. Do you really expect elected officials who get money from corporations to protect you from the very same corporations?
People are expecting the government to protect them from things they could easily do themselves. People are certainly reaping what they sow.
The black helicopters need to be sent in here. Gas Mileage like that is un-American. Before you know it, the schematics for the water-car will get out.
It almost did. That's why theykilled Billy Mays! Yes, he had cocaine in his system but that was because he loved eating copious amounts of cash.
We are supposed to be a representative Constitutional Republic which means that we can dictate what the government can and can't do to us. Just because what we do can be easily tracked and traced whether on the Internet or not doesn't mean we should lay back and let them do it. We have the right to tell them to screw themselves.
If we don't want a corporation to do something we have the power to tell them no by the power of the purse (i.e. don't give them your money) and the power to create voluntary associations opposing them.
Don't look for the government to ever regulate itself or a corporation successfully. At the end of the day it is up to you and me. People have to become leaders no matter how small a contribution you may make.
Yes, it couldn't have been the artificially low interest rates, which means they are increasing the monetary supply much more than they should, which caused the housing bubble (not to mention the NASDAQ bubble), its that darn "deregulation," which of course means different regulations and happened over the course of 3 decades.
Of course, Krugman actually advocated created a housing bubble in 2002.
Writes the future Nobel laureate in the NY Times, August 2, 2002:
To fight this recession the Fed needsâ¦soaring household spending to offset moribund business investment. [So] Alan Greenspan needs to create a housing bubble to replace the Nasdaq bubble.

Krugman and the Keynesian economists don't predict economic downturns, they create them. They believe that "bad" money in the short term is better than "good" money and say that in the long term we are all dead.
Krugman's prize wasn't for being a good economist but for his mathematical model much like John Nash. Personally after reading Krugman the past two years I believe he is also just as nuts.
Actually, every administration since Carter has been involved with "deregulation" in the financial industry. Giant corporations writing new rules knows no party lines.
The biggest reason why this economy stinks is because of the Federal Reserve. Allowing a small minority to manipulate the monetary supply is not going to benefit the vast majority of people in the long run. Why do you think well over half of the House has co-sponsored HR 1207, a bill which would fully audit the Federal Reserve for the firs time in its history?
Without Mr. Gates, I don't see Microsoft as a "protected" company anymore. I could easily see Google as overtaking it within the next decade in the OS market.
If you haven't realized it already the Legal system is functioning the way it is intended.
Plato states quite clearly that there is no true justice, but the appearance of it is what matters in society. The lower classes of society must believe there is justice else the upper classes may lose their power.
Don't worry however, the DHS has plenty of training manuals stating that people who question the government are possible domestic extremists. There will be a few agents on their way to send you to a re-education camp.
That's all you need to read and it should be obvious that this bill is not net neutraility. That means that any ISP that has good connections inside the government will be exempt from any rules.
which would also be given the unenviable job of hashing out what constitutes 'reasonable network management' â" something explicitly allowed by the bill.
The word reasonable doesn't show up in the Constitution yet the Supreme Court always rules the government can reasonably restrict your right to bear arms. The 2nd amendment is something which is a very touchy subject to a large portion of Americans and they still are able to trample all over it.
What do you think will happen with net neutraility, a topic which the vast majority of Americans simply don't know they should care about?
This is simply going to codify the large corporations ability to shape traffic, block p2p, etc... The only thing Congress could do to ensure a neutral net is to get out of it completely and break up any monopolies these companies now enjoy and let the people to directly dictate what they want from their ISPs.
No, you're looking for Adam Smith.
The religious 2-minute hate is down the hall.
My favorite was the deletion of a peer-reviewed journal as a source because it gave "undue weight" to a "fringe theory."
Well, yes, that's the point.
I believe his point was being labeled those things unfairly. Who hasn't been labeled a cheater in an online game they were proficient at?

A good attorney could argue that it's a list of facts of times to not show up.
Sounds an awful like real life, just replace guild with government.
I'm 38 dammit, and who the hell told you you could use my silhouette for the picture?
Shouldn't you be stealing picnic baskets, Gabe Newell?
Amazon should patent "1-click attacking"
Ptech already has it patented!

This is wonderful news. Now I can save $2.40 on my various sexual harassment lawsuits.
The gameplay sounds like you're being sent to a work camp on Air Strip One.
Rollercoaster tycoon was written by one person. Almost all of the code was written in assembly. It was one of the most fun games I've ever played.
Maybe you should learn what predictive programming is.

Or people can listen to a whistleblower who programmed voting machines that easily allowed fraud without a trace.

Krugman is just an organ for the Federal Reserve and the state.

That would mean having a government which does what it was originally designed to do in the free market; enforce contracts and little else.
The must have finally realized that bnet is awful and needs to be completely overhauled.
Sorry, but slaves don't have rights.
