Though I do understand your point, please do not refer to accidental or coincidental death as "collateral damage". That completely desensitizes the reality of the situation: innocent people dying.
And it makes you sound like a media puppet.
But I don't think chinese science is advanced enough to produce a massive artificial earthquake. And even if they did. It would be really underwhelming and not last too long./racist comment
In one second -assuming you believe that you can pin yourself to a single point in the universe- you would be well outside earth's atmosphere and well into the gravity of other celestial bodies.
I think McCain is the best Presidential candidate I've seen in my lifetime. It is safe to assume that you are too old to be effected by a nationwide draft.
The pole itself would deform since it could not possibly be perfectly rigid. Assume the force was directly exactly into the center of mass of the pole (i.e. 0 units of torque), there would be a traverse wave created by compressing the bonds in the material that make up the pole. I would think that the velocity of that wave would be similar to the compression wave velocity acoustic properties of the material. If you assume the pole is perfectly rigid, then you assume that the force applied at the end of the pole would propagate instanteously throughout (i.e. Infinite speed).
Another assumption that has to be made is the mass of the pole. A huge pole would be so massive that the impulse you applied on it would force you back in such a way that it would seem like you were doing a push-up. Something that massive would behave like a fixed object in space. For example, how much does the Earth accelerate towards you when you jump off a desk?
MS having a monopoly in the OS market would not bother me if the OS and the bundled software was actually good. There are too many anomolies, bugs, and worthless and intrusive "features". If there was a free market in the OS world, MS would not even be a major contender.
It seems that once a company obtains a monopoly they get lazy and start releasing sub-par software that just sells because of the name. Good examples of this are EA games (especially the sport francises).

Admit it, you did not make it past one minute.
Mod parent UP! This is why I love this website.
No, but "BJs" would.
You know that Michael Madsen and Ben Kingsley star in Uwe Bolle's "discrapungent" film BloodRayne http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0383222/

Except in Paul's case, the man is 73 years old...
...or Vista
... there will be no more Elizabeth Hasselbeck?
11. Fix bulleting/numbering system. What a mess!
But... all those innocent beavers. :(
...one of the biggest openings for a Goatse comment or what?

Pepsi Co. just released a report stating the full acquisition of this technology.
it is getting hard to dodge the spoilers.
Can we PLEASE keep the car analogies out of this?
Yoda: How Big Will the iPhone Become? Translation: How Big Will became the iPhone. Who the hell is Big Will anyways?
This pretty much guarantees that your phone will NOT be your next PC.

That was milk-out-of-nose funny. Are there any nappy-headed hos in the ISS?
Ireland has more drunks per capita than people.
Alone in the Dark made one hell of a movie as well. Uwe Bolle is a genius.
So SWOS made the list and will soon be released on XBOX Live? Is this a shameless promo?
