Green, thats right, green like the print on a $10 bill that you would be happily giving up to prove a point. now lets imagine a time, say, 3 weeks after you donate $10 to samzepus, and to you returning to slashdot and reading an article about all the cool things that samzepus bought with the money he was donated and imagine the feeling of satisfaction you feel knowing you helped out such a worthwhile cause, doesn't that feel absolutely wonderful?

  9. US Air Force Secrets on China to Use Silver Iodide & Dry Ice to Control the Weather · · Score: 1

Why don't we sell them the technology our own Air Force has been using to disperse clouds? Its been a little while since I read about it, but as I recall, we have been chemically seeding clouds under the guise of "dumping" super-expensive jet fuel. The clouds dissapate rather quickly. Of coourse it makes better sense for the Chinese to WANT rain between now and the Olympic Games, in an effort to clean their air.

    so
    1. seed the clouds, make it rain,
    2. use the jet fuel to dissipate the clouds
    3. Profit??

My sincere hope in this is that MediaSentry and the RIAA in general get their asses handed to them. I am all for dragging the top 4 levels of each guilty corporation into the street and publically beating them for their wrong-doings.

I am amazed by the lack of origionality of these posts (past the first one) and the fact that in an effort to get their 2 cents out there, none of these posters bothered to even scan the reader responses, much less actually read them.

  22. About remote "Kill" signals on Hacking a Pacemaker · · Score: 1

There are many posts about high profile evil types with pacemakers and what-ifs to reprogram said pacemakers. They all seem a little silly to me since, as I recall, microwave ovens produce a signal that can kill the pacemaker user. Conceivably, it would not be very difficult to create a waveguide antenna to shape the output from a high-power microwave horn from a commercial microwave oven into an aim-able beam. With a few of these running at the same time a DOS attack would be very feasible. Disclaimer: IANAP (physicist), and have only dabbled in wifi antennas (about the same frequency of microwave ovens), nor do I recommend employing these tactics against anyone, no matter how despicable they are. Especially when a firing squad works just as well, its just not as geeky.
