Don't you think that part of the reason the instruments are so expensive is because musicians are willing to pay that much?
And, again, do you want to do what you love (play/sing) or do you want a quick return on investment? How many doctors do you know who can afford to buy the equipment right after college? I know a few who had to work for 10+ years to just pay off their student loans.
You are right, the article is wrong in its use of term "hacker" to mean "criminal".
That is probably because the word itself sounds cool, whereas "script kiddie" sounds childish, "computer criminal" is too official and "cyberglar" is difficult to pronounce (and also uncool).
And since the news sites care less how accurate the stories are (and care more about the ratings) - they use terms that will achieve that goal.
You are insisting on politically correct usage of the word "hacker"?
How about the fact that some of them are criminals and hackers? Criminals because they were convicted. Still hackers, because they researched, explored, found flaws, etc. Does one lose the title of a hacker after being convicted?
Besides, I don't see that much harm in what that student did with election.
while I agree with most of your opinion, I would not include Illegal Immigrants. They work here for peanuts so you and I can get stuff cheaper - Walmart, landscaping, clean offices, etc. Had they been paid fairly, they would be in a better position to buy that insurance.
Every shareholder should be up-to-date. For a public company it means that all the information must be public before any trading based on that information is done. If CEO dumps shares based on his inside knowledge, he benefits by stealing from other shareholders.
once the new profile is in, you'll be able to buy the "old" player much cheaper. The difference - PIP for 1.1, on-board memory - may not be worth the extra money if you only watch movies.
and if it's not that, we can always hope there is some other problem.
hmm, it might be a good idea to patent the technique of "planting bugs to save future generations"...
Google has good management and actually produces worthwhile, marketable products. When is the last time IBM produced something good
Google really has only been on the market for about 10 years, IBM is over 100. Google never manufactured devices, IBM did and does. I don't want to defend IBM, but please try to put things in perspective.
As for the unions - you really confuse me with the "conservative republican" stuff and at the same time not letting the free market resolve this. Nobody forces those "IT workers... treated as slaves" to stay there. They might just try to get a job somewhere else. May be even Google, unless they are too old for Google of course.
Britney Spears take note.
It is probably a good idea to emphasize that message somehow. Otherwise she may not notice it while she is reading though the comments.
Next on Discovery Channel - a brand new episode of BBC's Planet Earth: The Deepest Depths of IT. This episode was especially difficult to produce due to large volumes of raw material that had to be compressed to fit into a one-hour episode. Not available in HD due to technical difficulties.
- Hydro: not available everywhere and every region has a limit;
- geothermal: only realistic in Iceland
- tidal and wave: only available on the shore, not sure if technology is ready to transfer the energy from out the ocean;
- wind: that's probably the only one available in most places, but having huge wings everywhere might be a problem;
- solar: producing solar panels requires a lot of energy for not too much output.
That's not to say they are worse or better, time will tell, but to me any alternative to coal and oil is a step in the right direction - away from fossil fuel and CO2.

because sometimes your app has to work with multiple DMBS
so, no Vista option?
>But it has worked so far
out of curiosity, how many accidents were in and how many times your car was bigger/same size/smaller?
actually, VRE is not a virus, it's bacteria.
ha-ha, you said "Firefox" instead of "web"
I wonder if running a CPU-intensive process on the background could address that (given, of course, the process is nice enough to other tasks)

unless you have some extra money ($30M)
actually, they are trying to ban blackjack. Oh well, as long as they don't touch hookers...
that type of interaction was shown in Minority Report in 2002. If only Tom Cruise was not in that movie...

I wouldn't rush - that cat can be behind a skunk, raccoon, even a deer or a moose and those are still plain boring non-glowing type.
it only proves that Neo is the chosen one
