Actually, old cars do make me smile for having been better cars. I have a 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle and 1977 MGB Roadster as my daily drivers. In the winter, in really bad weather, I pull out my 1965 International Scout. On nice summer days I have a Bradley GT2 built up on a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle pan.
Having owned a few modern cars, I know that these run better than anything on the road today. They're cheaper and easily to repair as well, because they were made with such thing sin mind. New cars are made to be taken to a mechanic every few months because of cheap parts and overly complicated systems. They quickly reach a point of diminishing returns, at which time they basically become disposable. Oh, and they still don't get as good of gas mileage as any of the properly tuned classics sitting in my garage.
It'd be nice to see people move away from playing consoles in general, just so that the quality of games can go back up. If you take notice, the quality of video games has been quick declining ever since it became a more popular pastime with the original Playstation. The less stupid people playing these games, the less justification there is to push out bad ones catering to them.
ELF does not have an office because they work as isolated individuals or covert cells. Really, anyone could claim to be affiliated with ELF and technically be correct. Their ideology is clearly stated in some of the works released by more established members, and the actual actions presented here seem to be in line with them. The reasons why these actions were carried out seem to be fairly shortsighted however, and not of the same ethical caliber of spiking trees and freeing test animals.
Morale of the story: Make sure your naming convention has room for expansion.
I only use names that begin with the letter "v". You'd think that the list would be endless, but many names simply don't make much sense. My primary desktops are Vega and Venom. My laptop is Vex. My network storage device is Vessel. My (sometimes) server is Vortex, and my networked printer/scanner is Venus. Why do I do that? No reason really. I just wanted some kind of continuity, I guess. I don't really recall how it began at this point.
Manson managed to stir up quite a bit of controversy early in his career. Admittedly, it was mainly from religious wackos, but then again, when isn't it? Nowadays he's pretty pathetic however. I don't even think he's made a tolerable album since Holy Wood, let alone a "shocking" one.
Trent Reznor wasn't cool with Johnny Cash performing Hurt. Doesn't matter now, does it?
No, it really doesn't. Not since Cash is dead. Other artists playing the song at Cash's tribute concert was taking it a little too far however. Of course, I always thought that turning a cover into a single was a pretty lame thing for any musician to do.
My point is that no matter what happens to a country, the survivors should be able to fend for themselves in an emergency. That means grouping up, and that requires communications.
Grouping up is the very last thing you'd want to do in order to survive. People are not to be trusted, especially not in an end-time scenario.
With every passing day we're using our computers less and our cell phones more.
Only if you're an idiot. People should try chucking those cell phones out the window sometime. Being free of such a useless piece of technology would probably make them feel good. No one needs to be "connected" 24/7 in such a superficial manner.
Perhaps you should consider performing basic maintenance when it comes to your car. Check your fluids regularly and top them off as needed. Likewise, change your oil every now and then. No need to take your ride to a dealer, just go out into your driveway for fifteen minutes,.
I thought that the first Mortal Kombat was pretty good. Aside from that however, I would tend to agree. I also wonder why Raimi insists on making crap film after crap film. Why does he waste his time on licenses like Spider-Man and now Warcraft, when he should be working on the Evil Dead 4!
If anything I would prefer to have most of the private security firms replaced by real police with real training, responsibility and accountability. I know that this statement sounds naive but a lot of security companies are simply a collaboration of thugs, looking for an excuse to beat someone up if they're having a bad day/night at work.
I still fail to see the difference between the two...

And here I thought that the correct course of action was to purchase it on the PC. Not only do you have access to said DLC, but tons and tons of user created content as well. Let's not forget the superior mouse/keyboard control scheme as well. Poor, poor console kiddies.
I really fail to see why Spawn Installs aren't a requirement of any decent game. To think that I have to purchase four copies of the same game just to play with my family in my living room is pretty absurd.
It makes me think of the interview not long ago with the head of THQ over the closing of Iron Lore (here is the link [kotaku.com]), where all he did was bitch and moan about how it was everyone's fault but theirs that the company went under. It was piracy and PC having some many different combinations and it isn't our fault..bla bla bla. I tried the demo and it spent more time crashing to desktop than playing, and when it did play it was obviously a lame Diablo ripoff with very little to make it different from it or Dungeon Siege.
I rather liked Titan Quest, personally. It was very buggy for the first few patches, and the performance issues still exist unless you have an awesome computer, but it was still fun. It was well worth playing, despite being an obvious clone of Diablo II and a little too linear in level design.

I always assumed that Safari was pretty well ignored even on the Mac. I mean, Firefox is available on just about any platform that you'd want.
Those old air-cooled Beetle engines can do anything if you put your mind to it.
It's like having cable TV, or private bathrooms, or a pool table in your particular dorm. Nice to have, but not essential.
I'd list private bathrooms pretty high on my list when staying anywhere, let alone throughout a four year stint of "education".

Because clearly, people working at "game stores" know what they're talking about. Heh.

For me, nothing beats Animals. ;)

That's for sure. QuakeLive has too much of a crappy CPMA feel to it. The only reason to play Quake 3 anymore is for the Generations Arena mod anyway!

Those are indeed a great option. Combine those with good, old-fashion zip ties and twisty-ties too!

Off Topic? Obviously, someone has never seen Wild in the Streets.

the Grand Theft Auto series is full of adult humor.
I can't think of a single adult that would find most of that trite humorous. It's about as immature as you can get.

But the whole point was if their code wasn't so shitty you wouldn't NEED an "awesome machine" because the graphics just ain't that great.
Not true. Those fields of parting grass were amazing!
Seriously though, I agree with the lot of what you're saying.
